Interestingly, it appears that the British were suspicious of McGonigal as early as 2015.

Missing from this is the alleged FBI NY leak to Rudy which necessitated the announcement of more Hilary emails/laptop days before the election.

One can at least hypothesize that McGonigal (who may well have been the one trying to track down the leak) was the leaker, either to Rudy, or per his denial here, to Deripaska and thence to Rudy…
