Pretty much confirmed:

https://www.justsecurity.org/63437/the-missing-piece-of-the-mueller-investigation/

But investigating possible criminal activity was by far not the entirety of Mueller’s investigation. The former director of the FBI was hired to supervise an ongoing FBI counterintelligence investigation. The counterintelligence probe had initially involved scrutiny of individuals associated with the Trump campaign, and expanded to include the President himself as a particular subject not only with respect to the 2016 campaign but also his continued relationship with Russia in office. We now know that Mueller has wrapped up his involvement in the investigation. We also have Attorney General Bill Barr’s letter concerning at least the backward-looking aspects of the investigation, including decisions Mueller made about prosecutions for criminal violations. But what about the counterintelligence aspects of the probe?

Where does the counterintelligence investigation now stand? What are the range of findings it may produce? And how may Congress or the public learn of its results?

More:

Presumably those with a clearance on the Intel or Judiciary committees will get the full thing.

  1. Sure, absolutely do that. Obvs.
  2. Yep, makes sense.
  3. Let’s be careful, but yes, I understand.
  4. OK, this is going to be a fight, perhaps.

Worldwide media: says you.

“Hello, I’d like to place an order for 800 black sharpies…”

Awesome…it only takes hours to properly summarize a 400 pg report but apparently weeks to actually read the thing, strip out anything incriminating for Trump, then release it to Congress.

Fantastic twitter thread from one of the real heroes of journalism, explaining exactly why it was obvious right from the beginning that Trump/Russia was nothing but a smear concocted by Hillary’s campaign.

I don’t often laugh out loud in this forum. Thanks Malathor :)

I like how the US Intelligence Community doesn’t exist in these narratives.
