That card is going to have some Dewey Defeats Truman value someday.

So here are my thoughts on the Mueller report.
Trump isn’t a complete idiot; he knows how to manipulate systems.
I think most people should have been pretty suspicious that a sitting President would have allowed a prosecutor within his own government to investigate himself in order to uncover crimes that would have led to his dismissal if not imprisonment. Sure Republicans threatened Trump to keep the special prosecutor on the case, but a lot of this is kabuki from Trumps point of view if he’s pretty sure he didn’t break any laws in a way that can be traced back to him. If he were afraid of smoking guns he would have quickly dismissed Mueller and dealt with the consequences, even if those were impeachment and removal from office which would have been infinitely preferable to, say, conviction for some kind of treason.
Guys like Trump have been manipulating systems for decades, going right to the line of legality and using the slack and grey areas in those places to make their fortunes. Where there’s smoke there’s fire - in the court of public opinion. In the court of law, otoh, he has a sense of when the ash can be entered into evidence and when it can’t. They also know when it’s better to get soaked for the small time crime than the big one.
Trump wasn’t 100% sure he was innocent because those kind of mafia-wannabe real estate types never are 100% sure about legality, so there was always some worry in the back of his mind he crossed some line or some law he didn’t know about. Certainly they were able to catch many of his associates in lies and financial misdemeanors when the eye of the law gazed upon them.
But what Trump does, and which infuriatingly people seem to fall for, is make drama that occupies people’s attention and time. A behavior I think is at this point a kind of instinct rather than clever planning, a lifelong habit made into a personality trait, but the result is effectively the same. By stirring the pot elsewhere his detractors get soaked spinning their wheels at the small con while ignoring the long con. The bull in the china shop sends plates and saucers crashing all around and while everyone is running around trying to keep them from breaking, he reneges on their lease. The Mueller report was as much a worry as an opportunity and he played both sides until he could tell which way it would go. But it’s also completely in character that he thrives in confusion and messy situations where someone flagrant, headstrong, and completely amoral could make a profit, and if the messy situation is of his own making then the more, the better.
I think you vastly overestimate his intelligence and capacity for long-term, strategic thinking and vastly underestimate what appears to be his pathological narcissism. In addition to the fact he was born a rich white man, with all the ability to avoid consequence that entails, he’s an instinctive conman, always dancing to stay ahead of being found out.
No worries, he couldn’t hit me if he tried. There’s only one person covered in shit here and it’s Malathor.
Y’gotta call bad faith trolls on the substance of their nonsense occasionally, though. Otherwise they start mooching around and playing the victim, which we’ve seen more than once around here.
“Boo hoo hoo, I posted my completely true, 100% not made up story about how Hilary controls the FBI and the CIA and you guys just called me names instead of engaging on substance. Clearly that proves I’m right.” Nah, we call you names because you post gibberish and avoid substance like the plague.
Let us know how the QAnon thing works out for you
QAnon is a pure grift. The idea that someone in the WH is leaking stuff on 4chan is ridiculous.
Why are you buying into it then? You’ve been pushing the narrative that the tables will be turned and its really the evil democrats who will be indicted for awhile now.

Trump supporters are dumb as rocks.
I’m waiting for the GOP to investigate Saul Alinsky at this point. Fuck it, dig up his bones, drag them onto the floor of Congress, and I’ve got $100 Louis Gohmert would start yelling at the bones.
This new feature makes me happy :)

Ah, finally an ignore feature.
For one thing Trump is saying it directly, and of course you all will laugh at him, just like you did when he tweeted out “NO COLLUSION” a hundred times. Except he was right. On this Trump/Russia BS, he’s been right all along.

Woot! Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I now can also do a happy dance.
Oh, no, no, no, you need to know how it began, how it happened, how it ended, the details of every single interview, examine all the evidence for the arrests, carefully read all the confessions and so on. No half measures!

Correcting Trump’s statement to what he really means “This Hoax should never be allowed to happen to another Republican President or Republican Administration again! But should always happen to Democrat ones.”
I think it’s more specific: this shouldn’t happen to me.
This particular investigation was launched by Republicans and run by Republicans and frankly, for good reasons. It was not a hoax. It was a legitimate investigation into troubling behaviour by the candidate and his campaign.
