Wumpus told us threads over 10k posts get weird. For example, in mobile, the old thread wouldn’t tell you the post count out of the total number as you scrolled, just the post number you were on.
I don’t know for sure what the issue is with long threads, it may not literally be the post count, it may be something else related to the size of the thread in the database based on images, or length of posts within the thread, or whatever.
We probably need to do it with a couple other threads too, this was just the one I got around to starting a new thread for based on issues people were having here:
I don’t think it can hurt to have a new thread beyond a few days of inconvenience if you wanted to quote the old thread, but that will pass. And with any luck, the Mueller investigation will wrap up and settle all this before we have to restart the thread more than four or five more times.
