[quote=“Skipper, post:37, topic:128277, full:true”]A good read is the story of Lincoln’s revolving door of generals. The President has the ability to change leadership toward reducing those losses, as well as increasing the intel and aptitude of those in charge.
Even for Trump, I’m empathetic to that duty. It has to be tough to know you caused the loss of life, regardless of which side it was on.

Trump has zero empathy for anyone or anything. He has demonstrated through his reality shows, business dealings, racism, sexism, there is only one thing he cares about. He does not care about humans. He cares about his name and Ego. Read up on how he raised his sons. He was an asshole father like his father before him. This is the guy who claims he donates to charities and then steals the bare scraps he donated.
He has no empathy. He has no compassion and never did. He is a tyrant. That is it, end of story.
I have no doubt you would be expressing remorse for the lives lost, yet lauding her statesmanship for making a dreadful yet necessary decision.
You guys have been literally killing kids for decades, so don’t come out now with your friggen crocodile tears.
This is true of most republicans. Until it happens to them or someone close to them, then they realize, “oh shit, like Alzheimers is bad maybe should fund research into that.”
I don’t think the anger here is expressly over civilian casualties, as bad as those are. As you correctly note, the USA has been guilty of causing arguably unnecessary and unjustifiable cvilian casualties in its so-called war on terror for decades. The issue here is different. The anger is over a president who, to all appearances and in the judgement of many, cavalierly employs force without the knowledge or awareness of its capabilities and limitations, and without a clear objective, for no other reason than to appear strong for a base of supporters that for decades has bought the Tom Clancy version of international relations, where the only solution is the (usually infallible) application of pure American military power.
As Wombat has the right of it, and it seems the point of my post whooshed way over your head. Perhaps work with a grownup next time to sound out the big words together?

Seems like someone missed all the discussion here about Obama’s drone program.
Hint: Most of us weren’t gangbusters for it.
Your point is nothing more or less than a vapid self indulgence.

Unlike whatever this was? Gotcha.

Hey, he’s got a name to live up to!
I’ll also add that your hypocrisy is quite pointedly addressed in my response, but you are such a nitwit that you cannot even see it.
It’s not that it’s wooshing over anyone’s head. I can assure you that your point is so base that it perplexes no one.
It’s more that it is utterly moronic, and without any understanding of the intelligence gathered, it is ipso facto a demonstration of Trumps incompetence and disregard for (American) life.
What a load of old bollocks. Don’t you ever just get tired of endlessly bashing Trump? I would get bored silly of it.
PS. It is highly unusual for a President to meet the family of a soldier kia.
Hi Telefrog,
I can only assume it’s the same as the rest of your ‘discussions’. Endless reposts of tweets and a chorus of self agreement.
Thanks, but no thanks.
I’d address the rest of the peanut gallery but whatshisname is clearly a kid, and they’ll be distracted momentarily by the next thing they’re outraged about.
You guys really need some more dissenting voices in here. It’s boring to read.

I’d like to think we welcome dissenting voices. But yours isn’t dissenting so much as just insulting. If you want to stick around – and I’d like for you to – please ease up a bit.

Agree - I like RoyalWe’s critical response to some of the Obama groupthink here.
Also - if it’s boring to read the stuff here, GTFO.
Tom,
A dispassionate reading will show they give as good as they get. Hard to see otherwise, even in the isolation of this very thread.
After all, if a generalized accusation of crocodile tears is met with a typical accusation of mental deficiency, your lack of impartiality is unfortunately evident.
I also enjoyed RoyalWe’s responses. However, he indicated to me he did not enjoy posting here due to the lack of discourse.
I can’t help but think that might be related to the guy who told him to ‘go fuck yourself, you snide piece of shit’.
So if you please, Tom. Don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining.
If it’s good for the goose, it’s good for the gander.
Gee, look, there’s a dude down there saying ‘get the fuck out’. Lol guys, seriously.

Someone needs a safe space.
I’m offended!
I will never get sick of bashing Bannon surrogate Trump. It will never be boring to speak my mind. Thank you for nicely asking.

He posted a lot after I said that. In fact most of what he posted was after that and I never said a thing to him afterwards.
Complaining about moderation of a forum on said forum isn’t usually a good idea.
I do admire your lack of introspection.
PS. I think self-moderation is more what he’s after. Guest in my house, etc.
