I doubt it this turns out to be the case, but I would really like it to be. If Stormy Daniels was a honeypot scam Cohen ran on his boss, it would be delicious.
It does seem kind of odd how often Keith Davidson pops up in these stories as the opposing attorney.
He represented Karen McDougal in her initial dealings with the National Enquirer. She later filed a lawsuit that claimed (in 99(e)):
Mr. Davidson’s improper and secret interactions with persons adverse to Ms. McDougal, and his express misrepresentations about the terms of the contract, violated his duty of undivided loyalty to his client. Mr. Davidson acted as an agent for adverse parties in deceiving Ms. McDougal about the terms of the contract
The NY Times reported that Davidson had been in contact with Cohen at the time:
Mr. Cohen was not representing anyone in the confidential agreement, but he was apprised of it by Ms. McDougal’s lawyer, and earlier had been made aware of her attempt to tell her story by the media company, according to interviews and an email reviewed by The New York Times.
Stormy Daniel’s attorney in her initial $130k settlement was Keith Davidson.
And now it turns out he was also representing Broidy’s Playboy playmate, and Broidy retained Cohen because of Cohen’s “prior relationship with Mr Davidson”.
It’s a small world.

Apparently there are recordings of the calls between Cohen and Davidson.
Yeah, this seems pretty shady. It seems like he was kind of a plant lawyer put into position by Cohen himself.

The sad thing is, this is actually likely to improve Hannity’s stock with the Trump base.
We now live inside the cheesiest of all possible soap operas.
It turns out the Republicans were right. There is a “Deep State.” Trump is the director, Hannity is the chief propagandist, Cohen is the go-between using attorney-client privilege to shroud it, and Wikileaks is the information clearinghouse in contact with the propagandist.

Yes, only with Trump it’s definitely The Derp State. Once again, Republicans are actually guilty of a crime they’ve falsely accused others of.

For extra ick factor, what are the odds the story was placed by Ivanka Trump herself? (The Daily Mail famously runs regular pieces on what Ivanka is wearing.)
Before answering, remember Trump’s Razor: when it comes to Trump, the stupidest explanation is inevitably the correct one.
None of this matters, because people who support Trump have no morals. They are ethically barren.
