They absolutely did, you know; not just her death, but lots of deaths. You only have to read some of the posts from yesterday. There were several people here clamoring for maximum police violence. “Mow. Them. Down.” was probably the prize winner.

You seem to be complaining about some kind of double-standard, but the fact is that no-one here has posted “play stupid games, win stupid prizes” about the death of Black victims of police violence.

The top federal prosecutor in Washington D.C. said Thursday that President Trump was not off limits in his investigation of the events surrounding Wednesday’s riot at the U.S. Capitol, saying “all actors” would be examined to determine if they broke the law.

Asked if federal agents and prosecutors will look at the incendiary statements made by speakers at Trump’s rally shortly before a mob of his supporters breached security at the Capitol and wreaked havoc inside, acting U.S. Attorney Michael Sherwin said: “Yes, we are looking at all actors here, not only the people that went into the building, but … were there others that maybe assisted or facilitated or played some ancillary role in this. We will look at every actor and all criminal charges.”

Asked specifically if that included President Trump, who had urged the crowd to “fight like hell,” before the rioting began, Sherwin replied, “We are looking at all actors here, and anyone that had a role, if the evidence fits the element of a crime, they’re going to be charged.”

Advocating for a police presence to stop people from planting bombs, taking hostages, stopping the EC count, putting up barricades, arresting people, maybe protecting the Capital is not an advocation for police brutality. I know in the USA we mix the two because we think one can’t exist with out the other.

I wouldn’t be surprised if posts with that sentiment could be found. We were literally watching in realtime as insurrectionists were storming Congress as they were processing the EC votes.

It’s possible I suppose, but there is no discussion right now of anyone mowing anyone down, and that’s because a literal coup was not successful.

It’s not like we all have some sort of this is what you do as the government is being taken over playbook. Maybe they can give us a 12 step program on how to feel for the next time it is happening, one for during and after. They’re probably different.

I’m pretty sure someone said something to that effect once they breached the capitol building. People were aghast, and saying ‘look how they treat BLM protests, and they use kid gloves with these fucks?’ and suggesting that this coup needed to be put down hard, and the lack of preparation to do so was an indictment.
