Why aren’t the cops using tear gas and tasers?

My only answer for you is that I intend to do no such thing. It’s not much, but it’s what I can do.

You started back in 2015?

Well, shit.

Why would I have a problem with that? I was not flagged, because I don’t really do it.

I don’t know why you can’t see the problem with your timing and how it exasperates the perception that people care more about pretty blonde women that die than the past ones that did not lead to this discourse.

They absolutely did, you know; not just her death, but lots of deaths. You only have to read some of the posts from yesterday. There were several people here clamoring for maximum police violence. “Mow. Them. Down.” was probably the prize winner.

You seem to be complaining about some kind of double-standard, but the fact is that no-one here has posted “play stupid games, win stupid prizes” about the death of Black victims of police violence.

Oh I am very much looking at the arrest numbers for the George Floyd march, and yesterday, and going WHAT THE FUCK.

But I am very happy that the internet is at least giving some consequences. That guy who lost his job? A LOT MORE OF THAT, AT MINIMUM

I’m just some doofus in Oregon spouting into the internet (and leaving messages at my rep and senators through every medium I can find today. I’ve left voicemails on all their local, and DC offices, and sent emails to all telling them to impeach Trump today). I can’t do much else. But if these jackholes get doxed and lose their jobs, families, and livelihoods, and I can contribute in pressuring to that outcome?

Well, its what I can do.

For the paywalled:

Advocating for a police presence to stop people from planting bombs, taking hostages, stopping the EC count, putting up barricades, arresting people, maybe protecting the Capital is not an advocation for police brutality. I know in the USA we mix the two because we think one can’t exist with out the other.

Who said to mow them down on this board? There were hundreds, probably a thousand posts yesterday. Who said to just mow them down?

I wouldn’t be surprised if posts with that sentiment could be found. We were literally watching in realtime as insurrectionists were storming Congress as they were processing the EC votes.

Dammit, that was the Blues song when they won the Stanley Cup!

Plus, that was just a bit too much of DJT jr.'s stupid face. I am advocating against his face!

It’s possible I suppose, but there is no discussion right now of anyone mowing anyone down, and that’s because a literal coup was not successful.

It’s not like we all have some sort of this is what you do as the government is being taken over playbook. Maybe they can give us a 12 step program on how to feel for the next time it is happening, one for during and after. They’re probably different.

Don’t think anyone posted this yet, great photos from inside the Capitol:

I will say about the AF vet killed yesterday, and I’m speaking as a AF vet, she deserves no military honors during her funeral service. She betrayed her oath, she betrayed her nation. Her family can arrange whatever service and resting place they choose, but there should be no active military there.

You’ve probably been on double secret probation for years!

Is that allowed to be said now or is it going too far?

There are plenty of jokes here about sending Republicans to the guillotine, etc. It’s practically a QT3 meme.

It’s always been in bad taste IMHO, and now is as good a time as any to call it out.

I’m pretty sure someone said something to that effect once they breached the capitol building. People were aghast, and saying ‘look how they treat BLM protests, and they use kid gloves with these fucks?’ and suggesting that this coup needed to be put down hard, and the lack of preparation to do so was an indictment.

I can almost assure you that Trump will praise her as a true patriot and give her some sort of posthumous military honor. It’s totally on brand for him.
