See i can be blunt, often am even at almost 2AM on a work night.
I don’t know what was really going on with the police, but clearly a lot of folks got out quickly. Someone must’ve had a good plan or was quick thinking.
These last couple of days feel like the initial outbreak in Spring, 9/11… fires like this thing happens, and we’re just supposed to go to work, eat and sleep like it’s nothing.
I know I closed some tickets, but I have no idea what I did all day or yesterday…

On a side note, this ruined Cobra Kai for me. All the spinning kicks to the head just made me cringe and worry about all that head trauma. Not many of those kids are eating lunch unassisted by their mid-twenties.

Unless Dems blow it, this is the mother of all wedge issues for the Republicans to overcome.
They have millions of Trumpists who only turn out for Trump, who believe in Trump not in the American system, not the Republican Party.
They also have millions of more mainstream Republicans and sympathetic “independents” for whom the imagery from Wednesday is anathema.
Admittedly, Republican political operatives have an incredible record, but this is going to be quite a challenge for them.
And, as enraging as it was to watch, the events along with law enforcement response, probably played out entirely to our advantage. 1) undeniable evil on the part of the Trump crowd, in the form of compelling visuals, 2) no slaughter of right wing martyrs on the scene, 3) many injured and one dead policeman
As I scan right wing sites, I read a mix of outrage at the mob and a desperation to come back to shared right wing political goals.
So… in a sense, I agree, no long-term shifts in opinion. However, a much more difficult time overcoming existing differences of opinion among conservatives.

There was a noose? The zip ties thing doesn’t do much for me. All it says is someone came prepared (or thought they were prepared) to immobilize someone. I simply don’t find it that sinister, just more evidence that these are the kinds of people who are themselves as Freedom Commandos or whatever. And it was just the one guy as far as I’ve seen.

I agree with you or (maybe it was someone else) who doesn’t see a carefully plot master plan, to take hostage or execute Democrats. But I think that a fair number of the mob would have done some bad
