It’s highly likely that our own citizens want to kill our legislators much more than our foreign adversary’s do. There’s much more to be gained for them through obtaining intel or just sowing discord and chaos.
I find the report of Pelosi hoping to have Reps convince Trump to resign interesting. I could see the potential framework for a deal:
Trump resigns immediately, no further pardons
Pence takes office and pardons Trump, Javanka, Jr and the other idiot son.
Reps get to dodge any further impeachment drama
Trump can whine about treatment but gets the pardons he wants most. Rudy and the other stooges take the focus of attention as they get prosecuted for the next couple years.
For Trump? Maybe not - if Pence pardons him he doesn’t have to take the potential risk of a self-pardon not holding up.

Yea that’s going well. Can’t wait to see how Q spins that.

Reports are that Trump is despondent. He has lost Hope.
I tend to agree with you, but I would point out that the direct cause of that Trump concession video was the White House counsel telling Trump he likely had criminal exposure in the Capitol riot.
If Cipollone tells him this is his best bet to stay out of jail…

I think Trump should make him a deal to pardon Trump and his family after he resigns, and then just not issue the pardon.

My prediction, based on nothing: Trump won’t resign, will pardon himself and his family.
That is the most likely scenario

Yes, I think this is the most likely scenario. There’s no reason for Trump not to at least try to pardon himself. Best case scenario is nobody bothers challenging it. Worst that happens is we get a ruling from the Supreme Court that the President can’t pardon himself, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to be prosecuted.
I agree that is far more likely than anything else, I just could see something being worked out transactionally that for at least rational actors could be seen as a win all around. Of course the fly in that ointment is Trump acting rationally.
I would say the chance of no-one bothering to challenge a Trump self-pardon is about 0.001%.

Can we make it law that you can’t self pardon? That’s the stupidest thing ever. A president could murder someone in the face and then immediately say, “I pardon myself”.

so regarding all the resignations, they all waited for the coup to happen and if successful, to continue. But now since all is lost, they leave?
Correct, because, in addition to being traitors, they are also cowards.
If I was DJT, I would have had pardon papers drawn up for myself and family EVERY DAY and signed them on the regular before bedtime. No reason to wait, they don’t have to be public until needed.
