This guy who tasered himself and had a heart attack supposedly had it around his waist and hit himself in the junk.

What a way to go.

Yes, that’s one of those “bad decisions on the ground”.

I’ve only seen the one selfie dude. Not sure if there are more. I wasn’t there so can’t say if it was some sort of defusing please-let-me-get-out-of-here-alive situation.

More damning to me is the failure to not arrest people in situations where they seem to have been pretty well contained and arrestable.

But that probably comes down to standing orders these guys had.

I haven’t! Till now. Not sure if it can be described as opening doors for them. They are clearly standing aside and letting the do what they will, and we see the same thing where the cops guarding the door to the chamber hallways step aside before the gal is shot.

But I Also count single digit numbers of cops and dozens/hundreds of protestors inside.

I am more perplexed by that line of cops in yellow vests in that video who are just chilling outside.

I look forward to the NYT long-form article with cool infographics for what happened her. But videos don’t necessarily tell a great story by themselves.

It should be hard to impeach and convict a sitting President. I personally don’t believe this is a process that should be “rammed through” in 24 hours.

I don’t wish more of them were dead but hopefuly @tomchick will forgive me for wishing that many, many more of them had tasered themselves in the nuts.

THIS thread? Haha. There’s no way I can keep up, so I skim it heavily every hour or two. Me carefully scouring this thread only results in fewer video games for the rest of you. (You were lamenting how few games are out there, right?)

But I have also read a number of major political news sites, listened to NPR, etc, and I still haven’t heard how the 25th amendment applies. Articles that get into it tend to say, “This is a shaky interpretation of the amendment, and not the sort of thing it was originally intended for.”

Oh yeah, I forgot that this was another part of my frustration today! Pelosi yesterday: “Pence, start 25A or we’ll impeach!” Today: “Trump, resign or we’ll impeach!” Later: “We’ll start on Monday.”

Hey, Congress, you were given the remedy for this! I know it’ll take time, maybe more time than you have. Sorry to be a stickler, but seems to me you’re obliged to do it anyway.

That’s what I was thinking of as well. Now the Dems just need to be Omar and keep a sharp eye out for punk kids.

The Dave’s Nuts Award.

Two things: First, I wish they weren’t taking the weekend off. That doesn’t sit well.

Second, “convict” is obviously going to take longer because the senate really does need to hold a proper trial, see evidence etc. Drawing up the articles and voting on them, however, doesn’t seem like it should need to take this long. And again, if it does, maybe treat this like the emergency it is and don’t take the weekend.

I don’t really get how impeaching Trump in the House and having the Senate either acquit him or simply run out the clock on his term is going to neuter the entire Trump movement. Probably the opposite. I think the should impeach him because it’s their job and there is a principle to uphold here, and I think they should do it quickly and expeditiously, and they seem to be doing that.

Agree, but it seems unlikely that the Senate even plans to try to convict him. If there were sufficient votes in the Senate to convict him, and a real desire to do that, we would know it; indeed the Senate would be taking steps, amending their rules for the process, telling Trump that explicitly that he was going to go down, to encourage him to resign. I don’t see any of that happening; instead I see key Republicans dismissing the idea.

You don’t let criminals walk away, even if they’re likely to get off in the end. My point if there was a choice between the two impeachment is better just on the outside chance it passes.

Maybe the FBI should start taking these people seriously?

Yes, I agree with that.

The reason people were pushing for the 25th is that 1) it can sideline Trump until the end of his term, and 2) it doesn’t rely on the Senate. So if you want him OUT, because you’re afraid of what he might do, then it’s a way to accomplish that, provided the VP and cabinet are on board. But they aren’t, so the idea is dead.

I love how this has progressed to the point where following Trump not only results in Trump eventually throwing you under the bus, but now you get tried for sedition while under the bus.

Their entire company is based on pandering to Boogaloo Boys and their adjacents.

The people with zip ties on the floor were wearing their hats and gear. And when people were trying to identify the perps, they noted, for example, “Wearing a Black Rifle Coffee, hat” and BRC’s response was to block the people noting it. They didn’t even really say anything other than a statement of fact.

Meanwhile Axe Body Spray had an empty can of their product in a corner, effectively just random trash and got out in front of it and disclaimed insurrection.

And one of them would’ve dropped right on Berlin to punish the German people for failing him.

hehehehehe

That was a brilliant piece of social media work, that.

I’ve heard for a long time that Axe got associated with, well, nerds in high school because their advertising suggested wearing it got you the hot chicks, and most guys didn’t need Axe because, you know, they were normal.

So, yes, these guys are a bunch of incels.

That’s a crazy video. Elsewhere you have one guy trying to hold a doorway with an aggressive crowd on his own. And here they just let them walk right in.

Again - I don’t think it’s necessarily the individual cops here who are at fault - for all we know, they’ve been given orders to let the protesters in rather than risk their lives. But the leadership of this farce has a lot to answer for, because this is beyond absurd.

Again, the officers got the crap kicked out of them and likely shifted to de-ecalation when they lost. This was a management failure and the idea that individual officers let people end is being perpetuated by the looney left and the far right. These type of vidoes are being. used by left to say police let white people do anything and by Trumpers as saying they let us in. It’s how social media/video distort reality.
