He’s a good man. And thorough.

I would just like to point out that Triggercut is fully correct here. Impeachment is a procedure and there is time involved. Also, it’s a good idea to do “All of the Above” at the same time, and that is what the Dems are doing.

Now, if it’s true that the Dems end up delaying so much it’s a denial of process, that will be extremely terrible and the milquetoast Dem party of decades past has a track record that should cause us all to fear this. And yet I feel the Dems of 2021 are not the Dems of 1993 or 1977. I feel there is a good chance this process will produce at least some results. Specifically, even if the ONLY product of these proceedings is a bar on Trump running for office in the future, that still has value. IMO, anything above that may happen, but may not, and should be considered a bonus.

Yes, in an ideal world… But we don’t live in an ideal world.

I feel Pelosi and the Dems are doing fine right now. I could be wrong but…

Wait. The House impeached this guy once already.

A short Twitter thread worth a read. I always appreciate this guy’s political insight:

-Tom

Grandmother “thank you Mr. Trump for inviting him to a riot at the White House” she doesn’t seem really happy with Mr. Trump LOL

That guy is a moron. ;)

I was going to say, some of that wording sounded awfully familiar… :)

Sometimes I recycle. :D

Fair enough, and I apologize. Though I see it as an appeal to authority without real justification. Pelosi is just better than us and how dare we question her kind of thing.

What I do know is that people that wouldn’t piss on Pelosi if she was on fire want her to impeach and do it now and she has their full support. That wont last forever.

As my mother said to me just a bit ago: “They want someone else to take responsibility for it.”

Her view is very, very, very common. Now if you want to guess a reason Pelosi is slow rolling this, I’m willing to listen, but I have Leftists, moderates, full on Communists, right-wingers and libertarians that I know all say the same thing and that thing isn’t “Taking your time with the Articles of Impeachment is a smart move”. It very much the opposite.

She is burning political capital to avoid responsibility imo and many of theirs.

I mean, they opened a door and let them in. They could’ve easily held that door. Someone died because they didn’t.

Still can’t find confirmation on the nut shot, though I did see an ok joke about how it happened while he was stealing a painting of Tip O’Neill.

Most detailed article I can find on the people who died at the riot.

If taser nuts is real, it’s this guy:

“Kevin was an advocate of President Trump and attended the event on January 6, 2020 to show his support,” the family said in a statement. “He was not there to participate in violence or rioting, nor did he condone such actions.”

Which is of course followed by

Greeson appeared to be active on Parler, the “Twitter for conservatives,” where an account with his name and picture lodged threats against Democrat and Republican politicians who Greeson said did not sufficiently support Trump.

Responding to a post that floated the “militia option” to keep Trump in office, Greeson wrote, “I’m in… call me I have guns and ammo!” He interacted with posts from the far-right Proud Boys, telling them to give Antifa “hell.”

Greeson also said he hoped House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would get Covid-19 and die, and on Dec. 17 wrote, “Let’s take this f------ Country BACK!! Load your guns and take to the streets!”

Yes, we saw film of that. Surely, you also saw film of cops manning the barriers being trampled, cops pushed back into alcoves and tear-gassed, rioters breaking down windows and doors, too, right? It wasn’t “one thing” that happened.

I have no doubt some of the Capitol Police were sympathetic to these protestors and even aided them in some way. I wouldn’t be shocked to find out some knew what was planned in advance. But that’s clearly not the whole story. Most of this appears to be 50 cops in street gear vs 2,000 rioters (wild-ass guesses on the numbers here). The Capitol Police force has almost as many officers as freaking Atlanta. A lot more of them should have been assigned to this. I see that as the single biggest failing (among a long menu of choices).

Earlier this mourning, it was sourced to a Vancouver TV station.

EDIT: Actually, it looks like an AM radio station?

Oh without a doubt. It was a clusterfuck.

And some of them obviously did their jobs, but it’s just as obvious, to me at least, that many of them didn’t. I’m pretty sure the dude getting mashed from above and the officer that died were doing their jobs. The men holding the doors to the floor were as well. The people attacked at the barricade. Lots of footage of officers doing their job, but at the same time we have the door openers.

Congressional investigations for years and firing everyone of rank, hell a complete remake of the entire organization is called for imo. And those who shirked their duty or order others to do it need to be held accountable.

Did someone get shot in the nuts?

Supposedly taser dude who had a fatal heart attack

Is it bad that I laughed?
For those that don’t know the Gadsen flag:

I posted that one earlier, but with no cite or mention of where they got it from it does seem a little too funny to be true. As Sum Ting Wong and Wi Tu Lo of Asiana Airlines can testify sometimes local news stations fall for jokes on social media.

Certainly not as bad as making the joke so who am I to judge?
