Patriots or shitstains on our Democracy?

Who supposedly tased himself in the nuts to maybe cause the heart attack.

And he was so close to finding out that the guy reaching out to him wasn’t as strong as he believed himself to be.

How kind of them to leave solid DNA evidence, at least. That’s going to backfire on them.

OOOOOOOOOOOOF.

Single article. Will depend on the senate for that second vote for prohibition of running again.

And possibly how much the guy weighed depending on how strong a grip either of them had.

Dumb question: why can’t one article lead to both consequences? Surely the grounds for impeachment is, if not independent from, at least orthogonal to the judgment. Surely it can say “The president should be removed from office and barred from future office for incitement of insurrection.”

I don’t know all the details, but it is a different vote which needs a majority instead of a super majority.

if any number of things had happened differently, the three people next in the line of succession for the presidency might have been face to face with those zip-tie guys. And then: Who knows.

I still don’t understand why they were climbing walls anyway? Aren’t there steps?

The one hand ledge pull up is such a movie thing. I’ve pulled people out of the water back on to a boat many times (mostly for drills, but once in a real overboard situation). It’s fucking hard even with the buoyancy of the water helping. Most people will have zero chance of pulling up a person close to their own body weight or more.

Especially without leverage, which he did not have leaning over like he was.

It would be tough for The Rock to do it. That guy was no Dwayne Johnson.

Specifically, delaying and allowing enough time for reframing alternative facts.
I’m not saying I have an actual opinion, this is unprecedented to a rediculous level.

I thought that if you were impeached and removed from office, you were automatically ineligible for office in the future.

Ow ow ow, ugly snort laugh while drinking freshly brewed coffee. Ow.

It’s two separate votes.

The constitution says:

Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.

So yes, there are two possible punishments. If somebody can point to something in Senate procedure that the two punishments are two different votes, with different voting thresholds, that’d be great.
