I was reading the sewer part of the internet today. Remember that super dumb “affidavit” supposedly from Italy? Just a photo of something typed up saying “this is totally an affidavit and we totally switched votes to Biden via satellite”, all hilariously written in english? This is rock solid irrefutable PROOF in their world.
Did anyone spot Kanye in those videos? (Bad joke? Too soon?)

Yeah I don’t see why there is a need to call this a terrorist act or insurrection or whatever. There were trespass, assault and perhaps manslaughter or murder, normal criminal law can handle that. To say there is an insurrection is to glorify the significance of the mob action. And insurrection is notorious for catching anyone dissenting from the state and refuses to go along with state coercion.
The Republicans who call this an insurrection probably do so because it actually endangered their personal lives, rather than calling it as it is. It is like the property owner who insist that they should let the wide fire run its course, until the fire endangers his property and then he suddenly changes his tune and want urgent action. That is simply self-serving.

The mob actions at the capital were for a specific purpose, to overturn the results of a lawfully conducted election. They weren’t just there to trespass or to assault someone. They were there as a direct assault on our democratic political process.

See, that to me is [ed: for clarification]that tweeting dude’s[/ed] white privilege speaking. Black people being pulled over by cops for no reason feared for their lives just like that guy, because they know they can get shot and then the cops can probably get away with it. Nobody’s life should be threatened by another, but if you call the mob action terrorism, then you have to call racist policing terrorism too. So IMO it is problematic calling it terrorism.
Put it another way, is the attack on the Capitol similar in kind to, say 9/11 or Oklahoma bombing? I don’t think so. The attack is serious, but IMO is of a different kind to terrorism. It is political violence, a coup attempt, but not as far as terrorism.

My congresswoman, Anna Eshoo, sends out an email every week. This week’s included these paragraphs:
President Trump is a traitor. He has brought our country and our democracy to the brink of disaster and he must be held responsible for the treason he committed this week. He must be impeached and I’ve cosponsored articles of impeachment that will be filed in the House on Monday, January 11th.
Sadly, 65% of my Republican colleagues voted in support of what the insurrectionists came to the Capitol to do, overthrow the election, emboldened by the President’s lie that our election was rigged. This week’s assault on the Capitol is a sobering reminder that we can never take our democracy for granted. Every generation of Americans has a responsibility to care for, nurture, and protect our democratic institutions and we must learn from what took place this week and do everything we can to ensure it never happens again.
I think it’s far worse than 9/11 or Oklahoma. Thousands of our fellow citizens tried to overthrow our democratic institutions because they didn’t get their preferred outcome in an election. They’re fucking traitors…executin’s too good for em.
You might want to actual look up what the word “terrorism” means. A racist, dick cop unlawfully pulling over a Black person is a racist, dick cop. The cop isn’t doing the violence to try and further racist, dick politics. Now, if the racist, dick cop tried to intimidate Black people from going to vote, then that’s a racist, dick, terrorist cop.
These terrorist traitors specifically did this on the day and at the time in which the presidential election was being ratified, using violence to try and achieve that political goal. The fact that also happen to be incompetent chuckleheads doesn’t change what the goal of their violence was. This is terrorism—look, it’s January, have we really exhausted the quota on “terrorism” already? Why are you so set on carefully limiting the use of the term?
