This is pretty amazing and crazy.

Ezra’s not wrong here, of course. But, this is America. Rich and powerful people almost never face consequences for their actions, unless they get caught red-handed (and oftentimes not even then).

I mean, yeah…but it’s also worth remembering that at the point the two dozen or so folks from FBI strike teams were getting prepped, hundreds of Capitol Police reinforcements were also on the way, along with hundreds more from DC Metro and Park Police as well.

Well, we’re losing the point of this, I guess. Dems need to get aligned on what the impeachment is about. If Trump is an imminent danger they should vote Monday and immediately send to the Senate.

I love watching Parler implode, because to me that’s the vector that this all stems from (past the origin point of Trump whipping folks into a frenzy). The idea that all the hate and vile from Parler is getting a spotlight shined onto that service is delicious. This thread has lots of good stuff.

To summarize - after Amazon removed AWS services, after Goodle and iOS removed the app from their stores (and made the app non-functional on those devices, iirc, leaving web browsers as the only way to get in), now they’ve lost Okta (identity verification, from what I gather), Zendesk (customer support, I believe), and without those pieces anyone can register any random string of characters and email addresses to create an account, sending Anonymous after them with a deluge of bots and fake accounts, causing them to suspend new account creation while Don Boingino (the fakest last name I’ve seen in awhile) rallies users to get their families to register accounts as “we can’t win without numbers!”. It’s just amazing.

In a perfect world. Here’s Mitch’s stance:

CNN:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell previously made clear in a memo that even if the House moved in the coming days to impeach Trump, the Senate would not return to session before January 19. That would place the start of the trial on January 20 – the date of Biden’s inauguration.

Yeah, there’s an argument for waiting until after the 20th when the Dems get control of the Senate. But waiting another 100 days after that is…bad and stupid.

I see where they’re coming from, though. The trial won’t happen either way until after Biden is in office. That first 100 days is when he has the most momentum, and there is a shit ton of stuff that needs to get passed, especially with control of both houses.

Democrats have rarely had control of the White House and Congress in the past 30 years. 93-95, and 2009-2011* (and much of that 2009 year was lost due to that insanely close recount in Minnesota). They cannot afford to waste this opportunity. A trial sucks the oxygen out of the room.

Maybe impeach immediately, but Schumer sets the trial date after 100 days.

Biden wants to get his cabinet officers approved and get more Coronavirus legislation passed. He doesn’t want the chamber consumed with impeachment. While I agree ideally Trump would be impeached tomorrow and the Senate would take this up and remove him this week, because of McConnell, that’s not happening.

If we can’t get rid of him now, I can certainly see the logic in delaying the Senate trial until other critical business gets completed to get the Biden Administration off to a good start — added bonus, this means the Democrats will control the Senate when the trial runs.

Schwarzenegger’s video was well-done and very inspiring.

Sadly, as a blacksmith, sword-maker, metallurgist I am sorry to say that his metaphor with the sword is nonsense. Great-sounding nonsense that I’m sure came from the heart.

Hah…being an armchair bladesmith who studiously watches forged in fire, that was one of the 1st things I thought

In the last impeachment trial, the Senate took 5 days to set the rules, 3 days for the prosecution, 4 days for the defense, and 2 days for debates and a final vote. That’s…2 weeks. There’s no reason this one even has to take that long. There is no lengthy committee report to present and explain, there are no witnesses to call, etc. The Senate could give the House managers a half day or a day to present the charge, give Trump the same amount of time to answer the charge, take a day to debate and then vote. Leaving our hero Joe 97 days of his first hundred.

So you’re saying the Germans didn’t bomb Pearl Harbor?

… this has to be sarcasm, right?

You telling us The Terminator doesn’t count anymore?!?

Can Trump give the Medal of Freedom to the riot shields that were used to break open the Capitol building’s windows?

Hahaha this got me as well, he was saying these words and I was like, “that’s not how any of that works” but I loved it as a metaphor so I gave it a pass.

Come on you can do better. Lets analyze this “sword metaphor” secret message in terms of the globalist jew evil satanist banker cabal of pedophile vampires, and ruining their plan for Trump to save us from the downfall of America.
