So it seems clear that the Capitol mob consisted of doughy rubes who wanted to treat the Capitol like NYC’s Museum of Ice Cream so they could share their big day on social media all the way up to hate groups and legitimately scary, ex-military, warrior types who brought real gear and weapons with intent to use them.

When attempting to make sense of our pandemic behavior, I keep thinking back to Fauci’s quote about the virus going “from nothing to death.” Seems this applies here as well. Like, you can choose exactly how seriously you think it should be taken. Anywhere from INSURRECTION to “It’s just concerned citizens, bro.”

The Democratic leadership are cowards. They have already given up. The only ones fighting and speaking the truth are The Squad. The rest of them are too fucking lazy and scared, of what I don’t know, to do shit about this.

Nothing will be accomplished in the next 2 years. The GOP will win back the Senate and probably the House in 2022. And around we go again, and each time it gets worse and worse.

I’d disagree with this, there are others. But the leadership are cowards in my book and a large section of the party is as well for just sitting there and not saying anything. I’ve definitely seen other non-cowards, the Squad is just more likely to be noticed.

That said, I’ve been firmly in the corner of AOC since this whole thing happened. She speaks for me more than most in the Democratic party right now. I’ll go back to making fun of her policy ideas after we deal with the fucking traitors.

This is not true at all. There have been people in Congress fighting the good fight since before some of us were born and we lost a few of them this year and the recent years before. The Squad did not create activism. Donald Trump did not actually implement, destroy or do everything he wanted to do, and it’s not because he and his enablers didn’t try.
