On thing Pelosi isn’t talking about is votes to expel House members who supported the coup attempt. That’s a shame.

Is always suprising the ability of conservatives to share a unique view. But when you plan is “mantain the status quo” theres one direction. Leftism have it hard because for progress theres multiple directions, so the left is always at war with itself.
Trumpism have something they all agree and is the worship of Trump has their god. Black Trumpist and Gay Trumpist can agree on that, but selecivelly ignore that Trump is racist and a homophobe.
Not sure if this is true but if so, that would really suck getting killed by your own side.

Sadly with something like 140 house members that are pro-coup getting 2/3 of the house to expel anyone is going to be a tough climb.

It is definitely something to be seriously investigated.
Which members of the House specifically supported the insurrection at the White House? Did a few say that and I missed it?
Agreed. I like his classification of the GOP into the “Gamers” and the “Breakers” - as well as his pointing out, without saying so directly, how incompetent Trump really is as a “Breaker”. One can hope that the one possibility he suggests - that of the GOP breaking apart - comes true, but I doubt it.

If the left loved conspiracy theories as much as the right there would already be reports in the media that some people are saying that Capitol police office didn’t kill himself and was murdered to cover up for the coup plotters. He had the evidence that would implicate Trump and the entire GOP, so they killed him and make it look like a suicide.
“Today is 1776” is bad, for sure. And that’s definitely support.
(I’m not sure saying “The speaker has been removed from the chamber” is “Telling insurgents where Nancy Pelosi is”. Those are two different things. And the two HuffPo reporters – Bobic and Fuller, along with Paul Kane both tweeted that same info out as it was happening.)
But yeah, if they eventually want to move on the congresswoman from Georgia and the congresswoman from Colorado, I’m all for it.

Unless someone really does fundamentally change in the GOP’s attitude she is more likely to face arrest than expulsion.

Article about upgraded security measures for the inauguration:
Chris Hayes (of all people) has a point:
We don’t have a functioning federal government. Simple to explain.
" 9. Just think about what that says. The reason why Republicans are saying that Democratic actions are divisive isn’t because they threaten to split the country. It is because they threaten to split a Republican party that is a coalition between those prepared to countenance this"
Exactly.
And our role really shouldn’t be that difficult. We just need to let it soak in, all the terrible things that occurred, and the Trumpist role in those events. Don’t smooth things over, and don’t enter into a debate about other things where Republicans are united.
I don’t understand this reluctance to call traitorous conspiracy by its name. I DGAF if it makes them feel important. What I want is for them to be made an example of, so people understand that it’s not going to go well for them if they do this kind of shit. These people want to establish a White Power Ethnostate in place of our US Constitutional order which, while far from perfect, is a fuckload better than what they’ve got planned.

So… fuck their feelings? Cool.
