From what I read, the podium was recovered – I believe undamaged – in a hallway in the building. That will make theft and vandalism hard to prove. They will get him to plead out to the unlawful entry, etc. and offer some others up to get him to plead out to the ones he can’t really contest.

The interesting part from my perspective is that he says even the most preppy lily-white protests in the last year were more heavily policed. Assuming this is true the security failings weren’t just a matter of police racism and white privilege (thought that doubtless exists), but of a deliberate attempt to sabotage policing of the protest by figures involved in the administration of federal law enforcement.
Ah, okay that makes sense then - someone told me that it was making the rounds that it had been briefly listed on ebay, which in hindsight seems rather implausible.
A “House of Representatives Speaker Podium” was listed on E-bay - but there’s no evidence it was anything other than a joke posting. Snopes.
His Mom should probably have kept that to herself. Talk about being out of touch.

If he doesn’t say something, then someone will ASK him what he thinks, because he’s gonna be…ya know…president in a week and change.

There’s an active discussion / disagreement if this is sedition or not. Biden has weighed in on the side of “This bullshit will NOT STAND.” I’m glad to hear (read) him say that.
I’d simply add that he wasn’t demanding this kind of tough response, he was reiterating the need for it.
