I really wish someone would run up behind him and pants him. Just pull down his pants and completely embarrass him. If we’re lucky, he also trips and falls down and everyone sees his diaper. That would completely deflate the tough-guy schtick.
To be fair, those dudes were pretty fucking racist and designed a system to protect slavery and white supremacy. Which is generally what the “originalists” that primarily hold that over-romantic view of said constitution yearn for.

If the 2/3 of the Senate and the House both agreed that the President was a danger to country and needed to be removed from office immediately, they could simply remain in session expelling members until they had no more objections to over-rule and then impeach and convict in a single night. They would only do this if they thought that the political repercussions (that is, to their own careers) of not acting were worse than those of acting.
Could they? Because the Constitution says there’s a trial with the Chief Justice as the judge.
That guy’s career is now over, at least as far as any publicly held company goes. That’s hitting big-biz conservatives where it hurts.

Listening again to Trump speech now. Trump is keeping his ramblings wall related. Mostly repeats of prior claims like how huge number of terrorists we coming across the southern border and how the wall has stopped them.
Caravans are coming again and will destroy millions of jobs and thousands of lives.
I guess he meant reversing his policies will cost the jobs and lives but he’s doing that thing where he starts one sentence but finishes a different one.
Trump claiming the TX governor told him he had better number since reconstruction. Not sure number for what. I think he means that illegal immigration hasn’t been this low since after the civil war. Okay.
And it’s over. He never did talk about the “next steps” for peace and unity that he at one point claimed he was going mention.

IMO we are about 10 more corporation donations being taken away and one more Trump presser from this tipping point. I give it end of day tomorrow, maybe Friday because that’s always the best day to fire someone.

The symbolism absolutely does. And Katko won’t be the only GOP Rep who signs on. Having GOP members who vote Aye on impeachment is pretty big for where this is starting to break.
