Jesus. Well that’s just depressing.

Jordan’s report from the capitol. He’s been attending Trump rallies for a couple of years.
Celebrating the true American Exceptionalism in Syria
Always hard to get people to impeach across party lines (although DJT has been so relentlessly lawless, it really should be a flood), all I care about is the senate. I don’t care if the majority say DJT can murder babies and devour them as long as 18 vote to convict.
I rather wish he hadn’t done that. As the saying goes, if someone’s about to give you what you want, don’t interrupt them. Or call them out. I may have added the last part.
Austin deserves a carve-out, though. Unless we can find them a better (and cooler!) patch of land?
Aside: my sister lives there. The real estate market is going bonkers, and she’s an agent. It’s going… well. Thanks Tesla! …and the rest of them.

I actually agree with this. It seems clear from the 25A that it’s meant to be used when the president is incapacitated. Impeachment is the proper remedy here.
Which I’m sure is why Mitch will never convene a trial. If the dems do it, he gets all the benefits of any Trump smackdown, without going in the history books as the one that led the trial against an executive from his own party.
If 17 Republicans join the Democrats in voting to convict, Mitch will be going down in history for that, regardless.
No but he will lure them into the feasting room within the labyrinth where they must resist the temptation to touch a single morsel or else he does get to devour them.
But all you need to do is slap the eyeballs out of his hands…
I think the 25th can be invoked for almost any reason that the President is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office” which in my opinion includes insanity, hospitalization, drug-induced fugue, or the complete abandonment of their office.
Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.
Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.
I feel insanity and abandonment of the office apply here.
No doubt about that, it’s a lot harder when the guy is functioning and conscious and denying that he’s incapacitated, though.
Or if the Senate are cowards that refuse to defy him for fear of angering the base!
… or mentally unstable/incapable, which Trump very clearly is. He cannot perform his duties as president. While the Capitol was under attack he sat in front of the TV doing nothing. He is like the captain of a ship paralyzed by shock when the ship is sinking: it is then the duty of the junior officers to relieve him of command for the safety of all. Not that Mike Pence understands this kind of duty.
