Which I think in retrospect it was a blessing that she held on to the speakership by the skin of her teeth, having both the skills and the (still fresh!) experience of leading the impeachment against DJT (again!) without missing a beat or taking more than a couple days break after her harrowing experience certifying the ec vote. I bet she could use a vacation after this.

He will not “stand in the way”, which, as minority leader, he has no opportunity to do. He isn’t saying he’ll vote to convict.
His tacit approval will move votes. And he may well vote to convict.
He’s also, as many are, “done with Trump”.

Yeah, I mean, I don’t know what McConnell will do. He’ll do whatever he thinks is best for himself. It’s just great that he was absolutely fine with, in fact in favor of, everything Trump has done right up until his own personal safety was threatened. He’s a historical piece of garbage.

The funny thing about Boebert is that she is not in a ruby red district in Colorado. Doug Lamborn and Ken Buck both won their districts by 15pts or more. Boebert won hers by 6. It includes conservative western slope, but also more purple Pueblo… and a host of liberal mountain towns (all of whose population is exploding)
I would think she is in deep trouble for 2022, except that Colorado is likely to gain a congressional seat and will be redistricted. She could be redistricted to a much safer seat… in fact I think that is likely to occur as she is in Rifle, Colorado - and I can see there essentially becoming a safe district for the western slope.
Colorado at least has 2 delegates on the impeachment committee! Sorry about Boebert, but we’ve done our part in many other ways :)

Sadly for McConnell, he is not Schroedonger’s Senator, so he will actually have to vote one way or the other.
Mitch is going to exhaust the helium supply in DC from all these trial balloons he’s floating.
I’ll take the better than 50-50 odds, especially since he detests DJT and knows he’s guilty.
I mean, if he wants us to put him in a box with some cyanide gas I guess we can. There are supposed to be some other parts to that appratus but I’m choosing to skip that part.
