Threat of federal prison has a way of waking you up.
I always read these as "I am so very sorry (I was caught) and I (my lawyer told me) now recognize how bad I was. In NO Way did I mean someone should kill someone (even though that is what I Tweeted, and put on Parler, and my FaceBook page).

Sure, maybe he got a reality check when threatened with prison time, but the only reason he’s saying this shit is because he failed and is facing said prison time. Rest assured if he hadn’t been snagged by men in blue jackets his position wouldn’t have changed.
Or he’s doing what his lawyer told him to do. I do hope he’s had a change of heart.
These people who broke into the Capitol building need a few months of shock time in one of the real prisons.
