The thing is, most of the BLM protestors and stuff didn’t straight up attack cops, because they assumed they would be killed… The Trump guys thought they were invincible.
They were, after all, just following Dear Leader’s orders. I can see why they thought he had their backs.
If they weren’t stuck in some fantasy reality they would have known he’d disavow them and throw them under the bus in a heartbeat. Anyone who puts any faith in Trump is a goddamned idiot.
On my way home from work, I cut through one of our ritzy sections to avoid traffic, and there’s sill about 3-4 houses with Trump signs/flags still up in that area.
One of them has his “Trump Keep America Great 2020” sign mounted about 10 feet off the ground, supported with a couple of fixed metal poles. After the election, the KAG and 2020 were tore out - it stayed up after that. Then after Jan.6, the Trump name was also ripped out, so now it’s a piece of bare plywood with a rectangular blue ring going around the border, and it’s still there.
Either this guy is vandalizing his own yard sign or doesn’t care about the folks doing it for him.

I’m still not entirely clear why he died by suicide. Surely what happened was not any individual officer’s fault, unless they happened to be in a position of power. Was he so devestated by the sacking of the Capitol?

I can’t even begin to speculate, but having people try to kill can be pretty traumatic.
People killing someone you know is also pretty traumatic. Along with people you know helping them do it.
Who knows why he killed himself? He may already have been on the edge and the event pushed him over. He may have helped the rioters and felt like he was going to be punished over it. Maybe he opened a door and let them in. Who knows.
It’s another death caused by the Trumpalos. I am convinced of that.
