I just heart her so fucking much.

Being retweeted by places like OAN, do not read the replies.

It’s a valid fear for anyone to have when facing a mob. I just didn’t realize it was at the front of her fears which is very sad. I am sorry any of them went through that.

Even without her history it probably would be since I’m sure she gets tons of messages along those lines every single day anyway.

Without being nasty, maybe we can refrain from naming political movements “Move On” in the future.

There was evidentially some bad shit that almost happened on January 6 that hasn’t been fully reported yet for security reasons. From a New York Magazine story on January 13th:

Speaking to about 100,000 viewers for over an hour, Ocasio-Cortez said that during the hours she and other lawmakers hid from rioters last Wednesday, she had a “very close encounter, where I thought I was going to die,” the details of which she said she could not reveal for security purposes. She also said, extraordinarily, that she had been worried Republican colleagues would reveal the undisclosed location where members of Congress were hiding, putting her in further danger.

EDIT: And apparently AOC walked through some of the events of the 6th during the Instagram event, but I don’t have a source with full details in front of me.

I suspect this is most of it, since it’s like nearly 10 minutes long, though I haven’t watched it.

Thread with crazy Q lady shit. On the one hand, she’s a duly elected representative. OTOH she’s insane.

She won’t get expelled but I hope she at least gets removed from her committee assignment.

Pretty must read. Bonus piece from Axios. Total insanity.

JFC. You were not lying about that article. It makes Death of Stalin look dignified and statesmanlike.

TLDR:

That is batshit crazy. With that sort of thing as the background to the insurrection on Jan 6, it really makes it clear just how close we were to having a coup.

Byrne, wearing jeans, a hoodie and a neck gaiter, piped up with his own conspiracy: “I know how this works. I bribed Hillary Clinton $18 million on behalf of the FBI for a sting operation.”

Herschmann stared at the eccentric millionaire. “What the hell are you talking about? Why would you say something like that?” Byrne brought up the bizarre Clinton bribery claim several more times during the meeting to the astonishment of White House lawyers.

Fucking amazing.

And just think: in a few weeks, 45 or so Republican Senators, most of whom are not batshit crazy, are going to agree that Trump is the guy they want leading the Republican party as the presumptive nominee for 2024 when they acquit him.

They could reject the literal insanity of Trumpism, but instead they are going to embrace it.

I feel like David Frum’s quote that "If conservatives become convinced that they can not win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. The will reject democracy.” is spot on and becomes more frighteningly apparent as time goes on.

Now now, we’re not supposed to call this conservatism. That is a sacred moniker reserved only for people who can pretend they care about you while they try to destroy your life.

Pink Hat lady has been identified.

Powell said that, before the election of Donald Trump, in 2016, she held a wide range of political opinions. “My views kind of fall all over the place,” she said. “I guess you could say that I’m more libertarian at heart.”

“She was just adamant she was not going to wear a mask,”

She told me that she did not share the racist views espoused by some on the far right. (In 2013, she tweeted, “what’s up, my niggas?” Powell defended the use of the N-word, saying, “My favorite book is ‘Gone with the Wind,’ and it uses that term freely.”)

Yup. It all checks out.

Growing up in Utah, there’s a lot of large families around here. It’s a Mormon thing to have a lot of kids. My friends and I would compare notes on how crazy various mothers were and came to the conclusion that after the fourth child, every birth they would need to make a saving throw or become progressively more insane.

So, I’m thinking there’s probably at least a couple failed saves in there.

“That’s all I’m going to say about that. I can’t say anymore. I need to talk to an attorney.”

Yeah, you really do.
