Ah fuck it, I’ll engage. Inflections in Dutch follow the pronouns. We have de, het and een ( the, it, a)
The adjectives follow the pronouns. There are some other remnants of a full blown conjugation system in Dutch, but overall its mostly getting the pronouns right and the rest follows from there.
Now getting those right is a bear. Theres gender, but also other factors. I couldn’t for the life of me write up the roles of wether a thing is “de” or “het”. De jongen zit op de fiets. Het jongetje zit op het fietsje. Changing it to diminutive fucks up the pronoun! Het kind, de kinderen, singular, plural.
I often think we made Dutch as illogical as it is to distinguish nati e speakers from nonnative. My wife, who is born and raised in .nl, but by parents of Chinese descent still manages to get them wrong.
Antifa. Dumbass turned in by some family member.

“I’m dressing in all black,” Norwood texted a group chat on Jan. 5, according to screenshots included in a federal criminal complaint filed last week. “I’ll look just like ANTIFA. I’ll get away with anything.”
Then, after joining in the mob, assaulting police officers and storming the Capitol rotunda, federal agents said, Norwood texted the group again to boast that his ploy had been a success.
“It worked,” Norwood texted, along with photos of himself wearing a police officer’s vest that he allegedly took from the Capitol. “I got away with things that others were shot or arrested for.”
That brother wasn’t having any of it. I can feel the frustration from here.
What a waste. What a circus the GOP is. Perfect party to preside over the complete collapse of the country.

Sheldon Whitehouse is ripping Christopher Wray at the hearing right now over the non-answers they’ve been getting. It’s a brief moment of catharsis in all this.

Pentagon is up in hearings today. We may finally find out who gave the stand down order, in Benghazi.
But seriously…
The guy in the background has fallen asleep…
I thought the optics would be better than having armed insurrection running amok, but I’m a civilian, what do I know.
I was thinking the same thing. The optics had nowhere to go but up.

I seriously doubt someone who watched the police terrorize diverse groups at BLM protests asking for people to stop being killed look at that and thought hey the optics would be great if we let a bunch of middle-aged white people siege the capitol and take hostages, it would be better optics to anyone except the people that would vote for Trump

What’s being unsaid here is that having troops in Washington DC guarding it from (predominantly) white people was considered “bad optics.” Having troops there guarding buildings from black people was (apparently) not.
Right? All this talk of optics is bullshit of the highest order. Over the summer nobody thought even once (much less twice) about the “optics” of sending fully armored police in military vehicles to provide “security” at peaceful BLM marches and to crack heads the second a clock struck curfew hour in many cities. Who was in charge of the optics when Trump had peaceful protesters gassed and beaten to clear a path to a church so he could hold a bible upside down for a photo op? Let’s not even talk about Portland where unmarked federal officers in full military kit abducted people off the street in unmarked vans like it was fucking Columbia or some shit.
But yes Mr. Military Guys, tell us about how “optics” were a serious consideration on January 6th.

Glad I’m not the only one still fucking fuming over that.
That was a radicalizing moment for me. I was already fed up with the militarized reaction to the BLM protests and the whole Conservative “Back the Blue” bullshit (among so many other ridiculously abhorrent things that happened during the Trump Administration), but seeing actual United States Federal Officers abduct citizens off the streets on Trump’s orders because they were supposedly looking for the leaders of Antifa or some idiotic bullshit…that shit does not go down in America. That really needed to get a hell of a lot more media attention than it did, but then again, every day brought some new low right up through and long after the election, so I guess there is only so much outrage one can cover on the nightly news.

Definitely not the only one. That’s not something you’re supposed to find in a Democratic country. But hey if they’re white and have grievances, they can trash a federal building and just fly home the next day. Wouldn’t want the optics of being terrified by having hoods put over them and being dragged off in unmarked SUV or vans. We only traumatize certain people it seems, because of course we do.
Did any of those people abducted talk about it? What was their experience? Do we even know where they went and are they back in society today?
Hopefully working to overthrow the state in glorious revolution. 2020 was an awesome year for left-wing radicalization <3
