That’s not cool. In the military you are trained to eat quickly and waste no time. You just trust the food is fine. How it tastes is really barely a factor.

So you’re saying that if soldiers were given raw or moldy food - and I am assuming it goes without saying said food is not supposed to be raw or otherwise why mention it - that they wouldn’t realise something was wrong & would eat it regardless of the taste?

So if you gave them say undercooked chicken they’d eat it?

I have eaten both undercooked chicken and moldy bread in the past so… yeah I think so.

Same here, I was wolfing down food so fast I only realised I was eating moldy bread about 3/4 in.

As an aside from the general flow of conversation and as a return to January 6 --I am still fuming.

My friends in the FBI assure me that they are investigating and arresting everyone they can as fast as they can.

Makes my heart hurt every time I think of that goddamn confederate flag pouring into the capitol building.

You do learn to not care how the food tastes. Especially if Army/Marines, where it’s a survival skill.

No, they would not eat moldy food or obviously bad food. Unless they were MPs, maybe. Grunts would know better.

Yeah, I’ve eaten both moldy bread and cheese. It’s not that hard when you don’t see the mold until you’ve had a bite or two. I’ve also had a bite or two of undercooked chicken that was still raw in the center. It happens.

This is not the The Guard’s fault. That is some contractor shortcutting something, either preparation, storage or just giving them expired products.

MRESteve laughs at your tales of woe concerning moldy bread and undercooked chicken as he scarfs down some 48 year old ibex stew from Yugoslavia.

And good NCOs + Officers would do something about it.

We need to know more about what happened.

I find this a little surprising, if only because I know that there were lots of meals being delivered (first for free, and then under contract) my DC-area restaurants to feed the troops. I suspect @triggercut might have a better sense for this (being local and a former restauranteur), but the local news made it sound like the red carpet had been rolled out for the troops when it came to food.

Always this.

I hate when that happens.

Surprising no one who isn’t an idiot.

“Defendant’s perception of his actions on January 6th as peaceful, benign, and well-intentioned shows a detachment from reality,” Lamberth wrote, citing the 60 Minutes interview. “If the defendant does not understand the severity of the allegations against him, the Court finds no reason to believe he would not commit the same or similar actions again.”

This guy is such a stupid moron.

“I asked them to sue me,” Lindell said of the Dominion lawsuit. “So now I can show them all the evidence when I rebuttal them.”

Oh boy is he going to be surprised when he finds out he could have just shared the evidence without needing a court case.
