So in my work --which is a federal white collar type of representation --I ran across two very nice FBI agents. Both women.
They are DOJ based FBI agents – so washington… so i asked them … where were you two on January 6?
And these two woman - told me where they were. They were flak jacketed up and in the capitol building and by 630 that day were pushing people back out of there.
I can’t have a greater respect for the FBI == they have managed to find almost 400 of the assholes that stormed the capitol that day.
That said, many of the FBI agents Ive talked to now think the only crime those people conducted was a “tresspass”
Think about that.
I wonder if I forced my way into a bank and wandered around behind the tellers and started rifling through papers on desks what the FBI would think?
Curious if that’s what they feel their only crime actually was, or if they think that’s the only charge they can make stick.
Depends, do you have a political party interested in your vote and making sure the whole movement isn’t seen as being bad?

Yeah, I suspect the latter. And it’s probably true for a large number of people for whom there is only footage of them milling about rather than the ones actively forcing their way in or damaging property, or who announced their plans beforehand.
That said, that tresspass charge should and does carry a lot more penalty than your standard tresspassing charge. This is gonna be more than $50 and time served.
