The 25th means that Trump is removed immediately (and will remove him). Impeachment takes time - for one, they have to draw up the articles and have people sign up first. Then they have to move it through congress. As she repeated several times, Trump is a danger to the USA, and he is a danger right now. He needs to be removed right now.
Based on her words and demeanor, I’m pretty sure they’re not waiting for Pence to do anything. They just hope that he has sufficient integrity to do what should be done - and realistically the only way Trump gets removed from office before Jan 20.
I agree, but it’s important to remember that we’re dealing with people who take QAnon seriously. These are largely folks with serious personality disorders, and what looks to be a lot of substance abuse issues. They don’t tend to make the best decisions.
I think what’s actually going on is the way congress – and the cabinet – handled Nixon in July, 1974.

My sole point here is that I hope she’s not. I, too, would love to see Pence invoke the 25th but I’m not holding my breath. As @MrGrumpy points out, these things have a political half life and we can’t afford to be wasting that window of opportunity waiting for Trump’s VP to do the right thing.

Since Pelosi is 100% in control of everything Republicans do – all she has to do is say something, and they won’t do it – she could just say “don’t 25th amendment Trump” and then they will!
It’s really amazing how the Republicans have absolutely no agency whatsoever. If Republicans do something, it’s Democrats fault for telling them not to do it, and if Republicans don’t do something, it’s Democrats fault for telling them to do it.

They have enormous agency, and they use it to be as vile and cruel as possible. Expecting them to behave responsibly is incredibly foolish. Pretending they’ll place their country, or even their own safety, ahead of their own pettiness is just being willfully ignorant to the lessons of the last few years.

Thank you good sir. I was going to post something like that myself, only I lack the muscle. Also, there’s a fair chance that I’ve said things that would qualify for your list. Certainly my nuts think this, as they have applied for a permit to be human beings.

Basically, it’s likely the THREAT of the 25th and/or impeachment is hoped to help corral some of Trumpism…but then you also hope secretaries are telling staff “DO NOT DO ANYTHING without talking to me first.”
Trouble is, there’s no significant overlap in the Venn diagram for “Trump appointee” and “responsible.”
