So my sister texts me to say she’s upset because she spoke with my father and discovered that his attitude (no surprise to me) is that there’s nothing wrong with all those people breaking into the capitol because, after all, that place belongs to the people. I don’t really know why she hasn’t been hearing or registering his nonsense for decades. I guess family ties and love are truly blind.

Fact is though, if she is staying through Monday to help with any 25th amendment activity (as mentioned upthread), Trump may now just fire her pre-emptively.

However, rampant incompetence, in combination with institutional chaos, in combination with an idiotic leader who just says what he feels without a thought… I mean, that explanation cannot be ruled out.
Serious question is there a Trump exception? As was point out to me, a while ago, threaten a sitting president can get you in serious trouble with the Secret Service and I’m sure the same laws applies to former president. So advocating his death is a really bad idea. But I still fantasize about various punishment that would be appropriate for the monster, are those ok to post?
