That’s the going rate - the actors are essentially paid on their ability to draw an audience - the amount they are paid is a reflection of how much revenue top shows like ‘Friends’ rake in.

The irony being that these shows have an “interactive multiplayer” concept to them.

Also, once the series is over, they’re totally over. The audience vanishes into the ether, Survivor being the notable exception.

This season of that show is very interesting. Knowing the audience is deeply familiar with the rules, they can now start making them more complicated. It’s like having an added supplement for your RPG.
