I just watched this trailer-- first time I’m hearing of this:
The key question, however, is will it have young women with purple hair wearing miniskirts? ;-)

It was so wild that they thought things would change THAT MUCH in a mere, what, 10 years? I mean, that show premiered in 1970 or something, right?
At least Blade Runner set the events in the then-relatively remote future of 2019.
Alex Sharp was terrific in How to Talk to Girls at Parties. He’s put on a weirdly unconvincing accent here.
Whoa, that UFO series looks way better than Thunderbirds or Space 1999!

And it had some really good toys…I had my interceptor complete with working big-ass missile for years:
I really wanted one of these but couldn’t convince my parents (I was under 10):
UFO had some intense episodes. If you haven’t watched it, you should.
It was by far the best Gerry Anderson show. Some very progressive attitudes, too, including almost equal-time beefcake and cheesecake and an unusual number of POC actors, especially unusual for a British show at the time. Several of the episodes are still watchable today. Others are admittedly clunkers, though.
From the trailer, this movie looks more like an extended X-Files episode. I was waiting for David Duchovny to show up.
1980!
How did I miss this?
“UFO was first broadcast in the UK and Canada in 1970, and in US syndication over the next two years.”
Our rabbit eared, black and white, walnut encased, wooden legged TV clearly did not pick up syndicated shows in the early 70s.
Thanks mom and dad!
Glad those chain mail see-thru shirts did not catch on.
NO WAY!
NEVER, EVER THREATEN THUNDERBIRDS AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT THE HISTORY OF QT3 HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE!
