The issue with aliens is not only space, long distances but, also time. A few hundreds years ago we didn’t even had capabilities to send out data into space.
Any alien civilization better have already evolved by now, at the same time as our human race and not 100 thousand years ago or 100 thousand years in the future, otherwise we cannot meet, if we do not overlap in the same timeframe…
And since evolutions is a statistical process, species do not evolve all at the same time. Could be millions of years in between… eh, who cares. Too complicated thoughts for UFO believers… get your ass penetrated, I don’t care…
Apropos to this, NASA is getting wonky data back from the Voyager probes. These things apparently were built right, in that they are working long past their planned lifespan. Apparently though one of them is sending data indicating some weird alignment and attitude positioning, that is either incorrect or garbled or something.
But the cognoscenti know, of course.
The simulation the aliens put us in doesn’t extend very far past our solar system.
You guys do realize that all of this posturing by the government to slowly drip out UFO “information” and declassify “encounters” and now have Congressional hearings is all fake, right? It’s all just an elaborate distraction to keep everyone focused on aliens and spaceships so that nobody realizes what is actually going on or where billions of dollars of Defense Department budget money has disappeared to over the past 20 years…
The funny thing about the missing alien hypothesis is that it seems to rely on aliens knowing that states of minds of observers, rather than just the presence of observers or not. IE, aliens know when people are looking at them, and so the reason they’re able to remain hidden.
That’s why UFO people want the aliens in their butts. They know exactly where the aliens are, but the aliens feel like they’re not being watched.
That’s exactly the kind of analysis we’ve come to expect from JMJ!

Nitpick - it’s more like a century ago. As recently as ~1910 there were big newspaper features speculating on what the Martians were doing with their canals, mostly thanks to Percival Lowell’s PR skills. IIRC it all started with a mistranslation of Schiaparelli’s ‘canali’ in the late 19th century.

The hearing was actually more interesting than I thought it would be. I thought it was funny that the thread title was debunked, but, of course, folks are now just saying the task force is being kept in the dark about such things.

UFO is OVNI in Spanish. The office acronym is ODNI. I can see a Spanish speaker in a decisión loop making a joke.
