Most early UFO reports were commerical iirc.
If there are space-faring aliens we’ll have an Outside Context Problem and that’ll be the end of it.
This is a poor argument. We are incredibly interesting. We do crazy shit all the time. We value completely arbitrary things like shiny rocks and bitcoins. We simultaneously hurl around nuclear weapons and obsess over Kim Kardashian’s Instagram touch ups.
And, we devote tremendous time, energy, and resources studying very boring animals all the time.
Re all these other reports:
And where are their photographs and videos in this recent generation of reports? Where is there anything but little featureless spots moving on grainy gun cameras?
Where are our Minds when we need them?
Bill Clinton says “no one knows! (it’s aliens)”
FWIW Bill and Hillary are believers. He instigated the report on Roswell. Hillary and Podesta hooked up with Tom Delonge and put him in touch with Elizondo, Mellon, and others to get those initial videos released.
Not to get too P&R, but I think if the US government had proof of alien life, Trump would have leveraged it to try to remain in office. The fact that he didn’t say he needed to stay in power to reduce some alien threat leads me to highly doubt that there’s any government cover-up about intelligent alien life.

To be fair, if they had proof of aliens on earth, would they tell Trump? I wouldn’t.

Just put it on the second page of the briefing book, to ensure he will never see it.

Trump threw the aliens from Mexico into cages, lord knows how he’d react to actual aliens.
This is how I imagine the briefing going, “Yes sir, we see these things, they’re not ours or another foreign power’s, and there’s fuck-all we can do about 'em. They seem harmless.”
Posted up thread. Government Report Finds No Evidence U.F.O.s Were Alien Spacecraft - The New York Times
“The report determines that the vast majority of more than 120 incidents over the past two decades did not originate from any American military or other advanced U.S. government technology”
You can’t actually be serious. This entire thread that was started over 10 years ago is full of discussion of various sightings, some of them from the 70’s/80’s. Here’s a good one, the RB-47 case from 1957. 4 aircrew witnesses, picked up on multiple sensors including aircraft and ground station radar.

Because those explanations make zero sense at all given the details of the cases we know. Go ahead, try and explain the Nimitz case using those explanations. If that’s too hard, try the 2019 Destroyer swarm, or the 2015 east coast encounters. I’d love to hear it.

Dude. Back off. It’s not aliens. Trust me.
He asked for citations, so I gave them. I don’t see the big deal. I also don’t see a problem with asking how a persons particular theory fits the data we have.
When you think meteorological explanations “make zero sense” but extraterrestrials buzzing our aircraft carriers is a viable possibility, it’s fair to say your priors are so shot to hell that productive conversation is functionally impossible.

Yeah. But what can you do with it? :)
I mean, feel free to demonstrate how meteorlogical explanations make sense. Or just stick to insults, I don’t really care. I’m out.
I’m not insulting you, I’m sincerely suggesting that your priors are bad. Because here’s the thing: to satisfy you, I apparently have to explain what the meteorological phenomenon is and how it functions. But to support your claim of aliens, no details of any kind are apparently required.
I can’t help but notice that your standards of evidence are inconsistent, and that for you it appears that extraordinary claims are the ones that require the least evidence. If that’s not the case, I’ve genuinely misunderstood you.
I know Tom is anti this shit, but that doesn’t mean you guys have to be dicks.
