Oh my God, a legal use for bittorent!
Well thanks a lot. I havn’t touched MW in a long time. Time to visit all those places that I skipped last time.
Now that I actually went and tried to dl this torrent, it says that it doesn’t exist. I am either too late, or someone made a boo boo (and I don’t think I screwed up on clicking the link and finding no torrent to dl =/).
Isnt working for me either. Not usually the sign of a dead torrent though.
That’s weird. I’ve still got it open for seeding, though my internet connection is slow as ass.
Try again now
I’ve been planning to replay Morrowind since I never completed it the first time, and was dreading re-doing the big OO mod puzzle. I’m downloading the torrent as I write and plan to try it ASAP. Thanks scharmers! I’ll seed this sucker indefinitely.
I’m enjoying the modded Morrowind in the initial phase. Character creation has changed a bit, the faces of people are so much better that it almost feels like a different game, textures in general seem so much better, and there’s a mercenary in the starting town who agrees to come with me if I can get her to like me enough. And if you go around naked, people get offended and tell you to put some clothes on. All good stuff. I don’t know how many of the changes are from the mods, and how many from the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansion, since I’ve never played the game with those before.
Anyway, one of the things I did with original Morrowind is that with every character I made, I always went into the cave that’s right next to the starting town. I discovered in the original game that there was a tough fight in there, but once you beat the people in there, you got a sword that could paralyze people, which really eased fighting in the beginning portion of the game.
So I was trying to go into the cave and do the same thing. And let me tell you: it seems kind of impossible now. First of all, I guess I’m no longer used to the combat system. I’m more used to Oblivion’s much better, more visceral combat. Nevertheless, if I take the mercenary into the cave with me, she fires a huge spell at the enemy that does area of effect fire damage that kills me no matter what kind of character I’ve tried to make. So I can’t take her with me, or outrun the fireball she launches if I do take her. But if I go in alone, I can’t win this fight anymore. I’m guessing that either the mods or the expansion packs changed it so that this initial fight of the game is much harder now than it used to be, and I’m kind of stumped. I guess I just have to admit that I’m not strong enough at level 1 to take these people on, and just move on and hopefully I’ll be able to take them on some day.
It still feels wrong to give up though. I mean, it’s the closest enemies to the starting location. I should be able to take them out and get the paralyzing sword, damn it! :)
I feel like an obligatory scream about seeding is probably in character.
Does this pack have that super huge Balmora expansion? I loved how there was all that stuff to do… even if it did do my laptop in the heiny.
I’m downloading and plan to seed it too.
Re-seeding for great justice! I’ll leave it on overnight.

That’s the modder’s little joke on new MW players. Take the Wakim mods (even sans NPC spell buffs), the various tweaks on armor and weapon values, and the first dungeon is not much of a newbie run any more. My advice is to run around outside for your first couple of levels, taking down scribs, rats, and crabs.
I always used to head to the nearest Imperial shrine, summon skeletons, and then zap them to death to level up my spell skills. I really hate the Bethsoft approach to levelling, because it kills an otherwise excellent game.
It’s working for me now too. I will seed it for a couple of days after I get it as well.
Heh, I also got stumped there. If you don’t take the merc, you get killed by a spell one of them is casting.
<Spoiler (if you didn’t play tribunal before)>
Don’t rest outside.

I’ve had seed up since I finished downloading (sometime monday night) and I’ll be keeping it up til next monday. So if you want to download this, get on it.
Mine’s up too. I usually turn off my PC overnight, but I left it on last night to seed this. I plan to keep it up 24/7 until Monday as well. After that it’ll be less available.
Also… I need to buy the GotY Edition of Morrowind. I just have plain vanilla MW right now. :(
Anyone fancy seeding this again? Wouldn’t mind taking advantage of your hard work :)
I still have it in my torrent folder, I think. Let me check… OK, seeding. I don’t have much of an upload speed, but maybe someone else will come along.
W00t, thanks much. Torrenting it now.
