The Air Force takes seriously both its official policy of homosexuality being a threat to discipline and the phrase “make love, not war.” The result was a program that apparently considered (PDF) creating a discipline-busting bomb. From the document: “One distasteful, but completely non-lethal example would be strong aphrodisiacs, especially if the chemical also caused homosexual behavior.”
I for one want my research dollars spent on strong aphrodisiacs. If ever there was a case the old truism about military developments later leading to civilian use was applicable, this would be it.
