Change his name to Bitch McConnell?
That’s perfect. Fuck me. Fuck us all.
(Tonight’s status: doomed)
Not sure it matters, but they didn’t rule on the merits.
In a brief order, the court said that it was ruling in favor of the Trump administration before the litigation has played out because the government had made a “sufficient showing” that the challengers did not have the legal right to bring the case.

So you remember that wall that Trump was definitely building with $2.5 billion in military funds? About that…

We’ll just need to divert more! How about Social Security?
House lawmakers have introduced a temporary funding measure to thwart another government shutdown, with hopes to move the legislation to the Senate and the president’s desk before federal agencies run out of money at midnight on Thursday.
The legislative measure, known as a continuing resolution, or CR, will fund the government through Dec. 20. This would mark the second continuing resolution to take effect since the fiscal year began Oct. 1.
…
“With a government shutdown deadline just days away, this continuing resolution is necessary to keep government open as we work towards completing the appropriations process,” Lowey said in a written statement Monday after introducing the bill. She said in addition to a funding extension for agencies, the bill also includes a 3.1% pay raise for the military and funding to support the 2020 census.
Because we don’t have enough crap happening in US politics already!
Maybe we can start a new national tradition where government employees work for “free” 3-4 months out of every year.
Just got this in the (e) mail:
Dear Friend,
This week, Congress is expected to approve a short-term bill to fund the government through December 20, thankfully avoiding for now at least the threat of another painful, pointless government shutdown. But in another month, we’re going to be right back where we are now, with many federal workers and contractors heading into the holiday season with no certainty whether or not they’re actually going to get paid for their work.
It’s time to end the threat of government shutdowns once and for all. That’s why I’ve introduced the Stop Shutdowns Transferring Unnecessary Pain and Inflicting Damage In The Coming Years Act the Stop STUPIDITY Act , for short.
The idea behind the bill is simple: In the event that Congress and the White House can’t agree on a spending bill, the government would keep running automatically at the same funding levels. The only parts of the government that would go without pay: the White House and Congress, because hardworking federal employees shouldn’t have to bear the brunt of another pointless shutdown.
This bill would prevent federal workers from being used as political pawns in spending negotiations over President Trump’s border wall, or any other issue, and force the President and Congress to do the jobs we were elected to do.
Now I want to hear from you: will you take my survey below and let me know your thoughts on the Stop STUPIDITY Act and avoiding another disastrous government shutdown?
If you want to share your thoughts about an issue that’s important to you, you can send me an email any time using the form on my Senate website. You can also follow me on Facebook and Twitter . I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Sen Mark Warner

At first glance, I like everything except the name - the day that Congresscritters stop trying to make clever acronyms out of their bill names can’t come soon enough. I do have a concern that this would hurt those representatives who aren’t wealthy and provide an easy avenue for donors to buy them off.

That bill would only ensure that government funding levels will stay stuck at the level they are when the bill is signed forever. It’s a slow rolling sequestration.
