We wont be getting tax refunds if trumps shutdown carry’s on. Why would anyone think we would? No credible source has indicated that would happen, Trump and his liars are not a credible source.

Well I have 3 seasonal IRS workers in this house and so far none of us have been contacted about anything, and two of us are already late in our refresher training. New hires, and they generally hire quite a few, require a months training. Refresher is just a week.
We will be waiting for a call.
Are they paying the workers they are recalling or just recalling them from furlough? If they aren’t getting paid, it might be better to stay furloughed and find other short-term work.
Per the article and tweets, they are not going to be paid.

Speaking for myself only, I get about $18 an hour, 6 vac and 4 sick every 2 weeks and get my health insurance thru a government connected health insurance company that literally pays for 2/3 of my health insurance for the 5-6 months I work.
And rejecting the work might get you fired. Sure, the union would eventually win a lawsuit in 3 years and get you back pay after they fired you, but that wouldn’t help now.
I am lucky enough that if I had to wait an extra month to get paid I could handle it. And the government has always paid back pay during shutdowns, at least to IRS workers.
Without the mothafuckin’ TSA, who’s gonna handle shit?

Federal employees in California who have been furloughed or who are continuing to work but don’t collect a paycheck, are eligible to claim unemployment benefits, according to the state’s employment office.
One of the 5 IRS Service Centers is in California.
It’s still McConnell. Trump will fold if the Senate actually votes, and if he doesn’t, he looks even worse. McConnell is the one holding the Country Hostage to protect Trump and/or the GOP members of the Senate up for re-election in 2020 (which is pretty much the only reason this is a thing, it’s the base, stupid (or idiot base, in this case).

First of all, it’s not exactly secret knowledge. If thousands of people are returning to work then thousands of people can confirm this is true. Including, for example, the rather irritated head of their employee union.
Furthermore, this information is coming from the IRS, which is part of the civil service. And civil servants generally aren’t inclined to lie even if it would benefit some higher up in DC.

Debt ceiling is in March- Dems could just refuse to pass it without refunding the government.
