They use their feet on me. I may sweat a whole lot.

Admit it Rich, you do it on purpose just to make them as uncomfortable as you are.

I can neither confirm nor deny these rumors.

The longest-running government shutdown has led to a hike in TSA agents calling out of work due to a lack of checks, and airports are subsequently experiencing longer security lines, People reports. But at New York City’s John F. Kennedy Airport, at the very least, the music is lit.

Multiple passengers boarding flights at JFK Airport have tweeted about hearing uncensored versions of rap music over the loudspeakers, including Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” and Kanye West’s “Lift Yourself.”

This spotlights one of the main problems in the US now. Most people don’t have any savings. They live paycheck to paycheck, and one missed pay period is a catastrophe.

Misleading! This is offset by the fact that the ultra wealthy have enough savings to cover everyone probably 50 times over. So when you average it all out, there’s enough savings for each person in the US, on average. Manufactured crisis!

So security theater and torture now? :)

Well than let all those missing paychecks and manufacture a solution!

This may or may not involve starting with treating the Koch Brothers mansions as if they are the Bastille

Time to liberate the money!

I was literally about to post something along exactly those lines! Perhaps Gritty, in his infinite wisdom, can suggest a solution to the shutdown problem.

Truly, a hero for our times.

San Jose mayor is working on a plan for the city to offer short term zero interest loans to TSA and other federal employees at the SJC airport. They will use the airport development funds.

Fantastic idea that other cities and airports should implement.

Skyone currently offers something similar. USAA and Navy Fed may as well.

I’d like to see the entire TSA and ATC staff call in sick on Friday/Saturday

I am flying home for my sons birthday on Friday.

I would literally wind up in jail.

Who would you take out your anger on?

That depends on whom told me I wasn’t going to be getting back to Chicago.

If you think I’m joking, only very very slightly.

I’m a firm believer in not shooting the messenger.

But everyone has their tipping point, and stopping me from seeing my kids for the first time since Christmas would have the normally patient and understanding me getting extremely loud and verbally abusive.

So you’re a kill-the-messenger type.

I just try to imagine how this stuff plays out when people claim they’d be headed to jail. Like, would they throw the ticket girl in a headlock, or headbutt a parking attendant or something on their way out of a closed airport. That sort of stuff.

Oh, I replied to the post just above this.
