Usenet provider recommendations?

Is there an app for that?

THAT’S NOT WHAT I MEANT BY “GUNK” RICH.

And get oodles of intrusive ads shoved in one’s face, any of which might be malware laden and some of which still get through ad blockers? I think not.

Besides, it’s not ALL pr0n.

Sure!

Ha, that’s modern-looking compared to the probably 1950’s vintage microfilm readers I used to operate working in the Periodicals department of the Multnomah County Library back in 1979. They looked like they were ripped out of a B-17 or something.

FrugalUsenet and NewsgroupNinja have sales now and then, Many have the same Highwinds backend which share the same retention limitations sometimes. Canadians (and non-Canadians too I suppose) can rely on the RedFlagDeals ongoing thread for active deals:

Been using it for years, would recommend.

I also use newsgroupdirect (I have only a block account) and have had no issues. I used to use astraweb once upon a time, but they’ve sadly gone downhill.

If you don’t need it right away, wait for one of their ‘Terabyte Tuesday’ deals. I believe it is a 1TB block account for $40 or so (looks like 1TB is normally $70).
