Virtua Tennis PSP - why buy tennis courts?

In the World Tour mode as you gain money you have the option to “buy” tennis tours. I can’t find any information that talks about why you’d want to do this. Does it help your character somehow? Are you bribing people at those venues? What’s the purpose?

In the old Dreamcast game, when you bought a tennis court, then you could play on that court in regular non-world mode, in matches and tournaments.

Thanks, I’ll have to check that out. Though I’m not sure how since I’ve potentially already unlocked them all.

Yep. That’s it. They are especially handy for multiplayer games.
