Virus(?) Problems

Ok, my paralegal’s computer is giving this message:

‘system message - write fault error’ it gives description ’ a write command during the test has failed to complete…

in multiple windows. Plus a “diagnostic window”

As well as:

“Catalyst Control centre Host has stopped working”

Thought it a virus, and it seems to be very similar to this:

and this:

I ran the unhide thingie and was able to see my desktop and c drive but the
TDSS Killer won’t run.

Malwarebytes does take some stuff out, but it is now crashing when running normal programs. We have AVAST too but it is doing nothing but crashing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Pull the drive and scan it from a separate, known clean computer, perhaps. Malware will often interfere with the running of common anti-malware programs, making it difficult to tell if it’s actually cleaning out everything it could be.

The Catalyst Control Center thing might be harmless; it does that to me all the time after I’ve used remote desktop to log in to a machine.
