30€ for the annual subscription

Do they have a list of all titles available anywhere? I can’t seem to find anything but the highlights. Does it have beat saber?

Their list says 963 things included in the subscription. Beat Saber is owned by FB so it won’t be there. But they have enough decent stuff:

Creed
A Fisherman’s Tale
Museum of Other Realities
Angry Birds VR
OnShape
Synth Riders
To the Top
I Expect you to Die
Arizona Sunshine
TheBlu
BoxVR
Obduction
Pixel Ripped
etc

Of course you are getting the PC versions of those games, which isn’t wire-free like your Quest yearns to be!

My counterweight setup:

IMO the top strap does nothing, and the counterweight is such a huge improvement that the product should really be considered defective as it ships.

I played (visited?) yesterday the Museum of Other Realities.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/613900/Museum_of_Other_Realities/ (although I didn’t pay that, it’s in Viveport)

It’s a VR gallery that mostly contain scenes/objects done in Tilt Brush/Quill/Medium by different authors. So nothing that novel in theory but, I found interesting how the structure used elevated the experience. I refer to how instead of seeing stuff just clicking on a menu, you actually visit a place with hallways, floors, unexpected turns and connections, etc. The way that imitates real world galleries, like the spacing between works, the title, author and description written in the wall, even the font used on the typesetting, makes it more… serious? high concept? grander? Hard to explain.

v16 Firmware for Quest. Unexpected to have one so soon

OC7 will be digital

Livestreaming ‘festival’ will be in Oculus Venues

Neither update available for me. I assume they’re doing an annoying staggered rollout.

Yep, that’s the standard for Oculus. Last one was pretty slow, I had to wait one week until I got it.

I switched the PC software to beta and that updated. Headset won’t update though.

I think there’s a way to force it now.

I’m all ears, homie!

For Quest owners, the films participating in the Tribeca Cinema360 film festival are now in Oculus TV

@cpugeek13 Was playing a little bit ago and accidentally entered ‘free look’ mode. And holy crap, have you tried that? Now all I want is a VR version of Battletech. Watching the mechs blast each other in 3rd person was amazing.

Keep in mind that game devs aren’t opthalmologists, so you found your real sweet spot. My Rift S is less forgiving than the first Rift, but with both I had to cock the headset slightly askew (left side higher than right side) to get good clarity, at least as far as my facial perception of “level” goes. I also bounced off Alyx extremely hard in the middle portion with your “friend”, that was a long way from what I signed up for. I’ll finish that section eventually but it was a hard turn left in terms of gameplay.

Ok, apps worth of checking out in Viveport with Infinity:

Nature/Space doc apps
Everest VR
Earthlight: Spacewalk
We are Stars
Overview
theBlue
Apollo 11

Art apps
Mona Lisa Beyond the Glass
Galactic Gallery
Rone
Museum of other Realities
The Kremer collection

Shorts
Aripi
Lucid
Gloomy Eyes
Bonfire

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-04-22/magic-leap-is-said-to-cut-half-of-jobs-in-major-restructuring

Magic Leap Inc., the augmented-reality startup that raised more than $2 billion from high-profile investors including Alphabet Inc. and Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., is cutting about half of its workforce as part of a major restructuring, according to people familiar with the matter.

About 1,000 employees will be affected, the people added. The company is planning to wind down its consumer business and will instead focus on its enterprise products, the people said, asking not to be identified because the matter is private.

Some Valve/Oculus hubhub drama, coming from the VNN related leaks.

This seemed right on the money to me:

Do you want to play Mirror’s Edge on VR? I got you covered, bro!
