That’s the biggest problem with the Quest, yeah. Surprised they didn’t move to a halo-type strap.
I love my Quest and would buy a minor revision that was more comfortable and ran at a higher refresh in a heartbeat. Recent rumours also suggested it was entering production and on track to ship this year. :)
Well, if I get to sell my current Quest for close the price I paid for it, I also would get one :P

Going to grab this tonight - didn’t realize they had put it out already! One of my top 3 or so VR games for sure and now it has the freedom of the Quest? Excellent!

Ya, I just started this one, never played it on any other VR platform. Always play archers in games so this could be good!
I didn’t want to double dip as it’s quite pricey and I couild play PC version via Virtual Desktop, but sounds like this will get new content and dlc going forward whereas the other versions are pretty much dead.

I had played quite a bit with the Stream version. At some point, that version inexplicably changed its control scheme which really threw me off. Was happy to see the Quest version uses the controls I prefer though. Looks amazing on the Quest so far, though I only made it to the second store tower before taking a break.
Only negative point I’ve seen so far is that the shard move has been changed into a dodge. So you can’t toss your shard to move backwards, away from that charging knight, or to quickly relocate more than a couple feet. Dodge just moves you slightly in the direction you choose.

I actually like the shard “toss” being a dodge and love that it keeps you facing the same direction even throwing it behind you. And you can throw it quickly over and over to move side to side of back for forth…nice not having to always shoot your bow to move. But, I never played before so cant say it’s better or worse than other versions.

So, I just let me kid look at the graphics and the bow for a 2nd and she ended up moving into an area with a load of undead and died…in the middle of my first run…omg…so I ended up with 5,400 points and it says to go to some tower to purchase upgrades.
Are the upgrade towers in that setup zone somewhere…I cant seem to find them?
edit: I see those areas near the save places to spend money…so assume that’s the place.
Ah that doesn’t sound so great, I wonder why they did that? The PC toss was a great panic button to quickly get a bit of distance, when firing a teleport arrow is too slow.
Yeah the original one kept your facing as well but you could move a fair bit if your threw it far enough. I’ve done plenty of wild throws over my shoulder in the past. ;)
More leaks.
Surely they will present it on September, on OC7.
Interesting, that controller looks like it has the capacitive touch area on the face to the left of the buttons, just like the original Rift controller did. It was removed for the Rift S (and Quest).
The whole thing looks very familiar, even the Oculus button is back where it was.
I started playing Paper Beast and I had to stop playing because it’s too good to burn through it. The WTF surreal factor from the start, the originality of everything, the puzzles so well integrated into the environment that are almost invisible, the nice art style, the physics with sand and water, the sense of living creatures that they got in the titular beasts and how they live in their own small ecosystems, I’m liking everything.
Good to hear. It’s on my watch list, as I was one of the few people who dug From Dust, but I’m not buying any more VR games till I finish the ones I have. And it’s too hot to play VR for long in the summer, so that won’t be for a while.
I finally got my Index a few days ago as an upgrade to the original Vive and today got round to setting it up and giving Alyx a whirl. I’d resisted the urge to ‘spoil it’ playing on the older kit with the janky refresh rate/resolution/screen door/etc. In fact I ordered the Index probably about 4 or 5 months ago and have avoided any VR stuff since.
Wow. Quite the experience. Had to stop a bit earlier than I was expecting as a controller ran out of juice. My hands feel weird now. Where’d these dumb arms come from? Why can’t I motion with my thumb anymore to teleport up some stairs? Grr.

I love the clouds, and the azure rock formations in the desert are striking.
This is actually a puzzle, you can’t see it clearly here, but there is a very strong wind in the area and you have to help some horses to overcome. Meanwhile, a family of weird beetles is slowly migrating…
Paper Beast looks really cool (though another one of these super short VR games). Did you get the Steam version and does it support Rift natively?
Does that new trailer for VTOL mean it is coming out of early access soon? :)
I have the Viveport version. I got the annual subscription in offer some months ago.
