Yeah, there is playthrough in youtube and it’s 2:55, so it’s cool if you wait until a sale on Steam.

About VTOL, yep, the dev said the next update will be the one that turns the game into 1.0 version.

Oh man, VTOL, I cant wait to get my mitts into that one!

I never bought vr controllers so I have been eyeing that title lustily yet from a distance. But I ordered controllers with my reverb G2. August, right?

I played a bit on the weekend. First negative for me was performance tanked during the tutorial when you fire a wildfire arrow. This was even just firing it, not the results of it. I hope that is not indicative of the rest of the game!

Second to me the audio balance seems out of whack. I have my volume maxed and the audio on really close enemies seems quiet. I love the audio in this game so wish it were louder.

Third there was no sound or haptics for using a pickup, I recall there being something there in the Rift version.

Otherwise, it is just as awesome as always - but free from wires!

I’m loving it…I just went up on the roofs to skip some early stuff on one run as I"ve done a lot of runs and think I will do that now for the first area…assume people do, maybe go down to get special arrows and to get to save points…then back up to get further on…at least once you’ve played an area many runs.

They have now :
-The already mentioned Paper Beats
-Fujii
-Down the Rabbit Hole
-Ironlights
-Crisis vrigade 2
-To the Top
-2MD VR Football
-Five Nights at Freedies
-Vox Machinae

Anyone using this Viveport thing with a Quest and Virtual Desktop?

Me. It works fine.

Might I ask how powerful your video card is that you’re running that from? Trying to work out if my latency issue is GPU or network-related

Sure. Gtx 1080.

Are you using your 5ghz network? Mine has a different name so it will always use that. And the computer connect to the router with wire,of course.

Thanks for the info. Yes I use my 5Ghz but I think the next step is going to be to use a separate router and see how that does.

I wired up my whole house with ethernet because I’m old school, except the one room where I do the VR, of course. Still, I can get pretty close and try dedicating one of my old routers for VR duty.

My router is in an adjacent room, but at least is pretty close, it’s precisely in the wall that separates both rooms.

My office with the gaming PC is adjacent to the room where I do VR and there is a currently unused coax cable through the wall there, so my immediate plan is to tear it out and replace with ethernet and then hook up the router directly in that room. Then I’ll either leave it like that or finish the run that I couldn’t get into the room earlier from the attic (in a different location in the VR room), even if it means a little drywall work. I’m pretty sure we got hung up on some board running between the studs that I’ll need to drill through, but can only do that after I verify that it’s not capping some wires or anything. Fun!

I’ve not used Viveport but do have Virtual Desktop streaming to Quest through a nearby router over wifi, no Ethernet cable.

I found I had to manually set the bandwidth in the streaming software on PC, otherwise it was running real slow and laggy. Like sub 30 Mbps with the auto-detect instead of closer to 100.

The difference was night and day. Something to check maybe.

To clarify, Viveport itself doesn’t do anything VR related, it just install games in the computer, games that usually are SteamVR compatible. So if you plan to play them with Quest/Virtual Desktop combo, you will play them the same way you play other Steam VR games.

BoxVR is rebranding itself and getting a graphical update. I think it’s a good idea, very possibly people had the idea it was a pure boxing game, and not what it is, a boxing-adjacent exercise program.

Thank you I will check those settings.

Someone is developing a ‘Beat Saber, but with drums’. It’s actually pretty neat idea

Been waiting for something like this - hope it turns out to be pretty amazing with the possibility of easily modding in songs from the net.

Man, I had yesterday tons of audio crackling through my Link. Tweaking the audio in the computer didn’t solve it, but the solution was on the other side of the equation: reboot my Quest, that solved it.

I finished Paper Beasts, the end doesn’t explain shit lol , it’s an experience you have to take in, and that’s it.

I also played Down the Rabbit Hole, the graphics were very nice, the art style is lovely and the voice acting is good, the puzzles were all easy but well executed. The end was disappointing, you talk with the Queen of Hearts very briefly and it ends. Uh. It’s also short as hell.

Another nice ‘experiences’ I played these days have been Age of Sail, Cosmic Flow (both free on Steam) and Fujii, the latter being a longer thing with a bit of gameplay and so nice to look at:

Oh yeah I tried yesterday night Five Night at Freddies, (first time I played something related to this IP) and it was disappointing. Why people like this shit?

When we will have a good horror game in VR?
