I don’t think so. In fact that will be the reason of why it has a different IPD.

Except that price is subsidized but the fact you must have a Facebook account to use it and are thus selling Facebook your data.

I’ve been too lazy to look but couldn’t you have a FB account with basically nothing in it? I have one of those…

I think mine have 3 messages in the last five years.
I don’t think it will be a problem. Their policies say the name and birth date have to be real. But apart from that, well, you don’t have to add anyone as friend or use it…

Unless you actually want to use the social features on the device I guess.

They already got my data anyway, same as a bunch of other companies!

Wow both the reverb and the quest 2 look great in different ways.

I really am not sure what to do as my Acer WMR gets barely used these days. The time it takes to plug it all in and get the boundaries working is a major mental block, as is the fact that my eyes get tired after playing for 30+ minutes. That is probably due to the fact that there is no IPD adjustment on the headset. Assuming the Quest 2 keeps the IPD slider of the Quest 1, I suppose that could solve both problems that I have with the Acer.

It’s just hard to spend money on a peripheral when I don’t get much use out of the current one, feels like a waste (not just financially but environmentally).

My biggest concern, still, is if I can wear one of these for longer than 20 minutes without it bugging the shit out of me. I’d like to play a VR game that’s immersive, but if I can only play for short stretches I don’t know how immersed I can get. I haven’t ever tried anything outside of a store demo.

I guess I just need Elon Musk to chip me up and put me in an electronic coffin with feeding tubes so I can leap into the new Eden.

I usually play on my quest for 5-30 minutes. I might go in and do a few pistol whip runs or some onward for a few matches, get as far as I can in Death Unchained. I love it for that. Get away from the real world and enjoy other worlds. The time in there for me doesn’t matter…any time away from 2020 USA Smoke filled shitty NW is worth it.

Yeah I’m similar.

I don’t subscribe to the ‘must be able to VR for hours at a time for it to be effective’ idea. VR is great in short bursts for me. But then, I do most gaming in short bursts anyway, and Quest is not that great for long sessions either. Quest 2 looks more comfortable.

On the Rift S, it’s comfortable enough that I can lose track of time playing something like No Man’s Sky, maybe go as far as logging a couple hours at a time!

I ordered my HP Reverb G2! Estimated delivery 12 to 26 October…

I have to get on this; I had no idea at all you could play this VR…how many others am I missing out on I wonder?

Nice…

Nice, I hope you really enjoy it!

I went to the HP AU preorder page and saw this as the top customer review:

Pretty funny in an absurdist sense.

Haha, I don’t get it… :D

Maybe because it is $200 off, for today only I assume? $899 AUD seems pretty decent price.

Yeah I love it… though it would really love a 3000 series card and a new CPU, I suspect.

Connect stream begins in half an hour.

Oh God, I forgot Zuckerberg would be doing this. My eyes!

Stop trying to convince us you have friends, Zuck.

Jesus Christ this Quest 2 video is painful.

It’s all so spontaneous!

13 October, $300. Single LCD panel, but physical IPD adjustment.

Edit: £299 in the UK for 64GB version
