Wow cool, I’ll be all over the 3D arthropods!
The concerts not so much… Are they at the point of using 3D 180 cameras and putting you in the crowd yet? All the ones I saw had me basically sitting in a virtual stadium watching a big flat screen. (never mind my musical tastes are pretty narrow niche anyway haha!)
Apparently the Oculus TV app isn’t on the Rift. That’s kinda bullshit.

I don’t dare try to order it right now - who knows how long they will keep the preorder money, and then deliver? I think I saw december as the next batch for those that didn’t preorder back in July?
Edit: Sorry, I thought you were talking about Reverb G2 from HP!
Another piece of the J.C talk unearthed
New game (well, vr port) announced
I won’t post it here because it was a video in Spanish, but a youtuber was saying the horizontal FOV in Quest 2 is 98º in IPD setting 1 and 2… and 87º in setting 3.
It makes sense because the lenses get close to the edges of the physical screen in that setting I guess… not great for those with wide eyes.

That Blaston commercial is just…something. Why are VR commercials like toy commercials with their over the top presentation of an imagined experience? Not that the game will or won’t be fun, the video just reminds me of some of the more embellished VR experience videos. Dash Dash World could be a hoot in VR though. Will I be able to play these on Reverb G2? I still don’t get the product fencing of the PC VR world.
The title alone makes me shake my head. It’s so corny it gives a bad first impression.
Falcon Age is cheap on Steam
Oculus Quest isn’t PC VR. :)
There are basically three VR platforms right now:
- PC (Oculus Rift, SteamVR, Windows Mixed Reality)
- Console (PSVR)
- Mobile (Oculus Quest)
Each can only run software from its own platform, except the Oculus Quest which can also stream PC titles.
Dash Dash World is releasing on all three platforms, so yeah G2 will work.
Blaston looks to be Quest exclusive right now, so the G2 will not work. I see there is a Steam version coming early next year, but it doesn’t list any VR support. If that changes and they do support PC VR, then yes the G2 would work at that point.

Oh. I thought there were work arounds for Quest. Namely you bought something in the Oculus store, but then could reach it with…“Revive” or something. It is software that lets the G2 headset pull in Oculus software.
That’s for Oculus Rift, not Quest.
Rift is PC, Quest is mobile.

Ah, that makes sense. I made a leap that they shared the same storefront thus software would be okay Oculus to G2. But, yeah, Quest is its own isolated device. Hopefully I will still be able to check out Oculus software such as Robo Recall, Asgards Wrath, and the like on the G2. Knowing what I do now, I think the G2 is the ideal pick for my Squadrons enjoyment so far.
Yeah same store, but two different sections, a Rift section and a Quest section.
Some games have both Rift and Quest versions, which is probably where the confusion arises.
And the Quest can technically stream the Rift version from a PC as well as play it’s own native mobile version. :P
Robo Recall and Asgard’s Wrath are both on the Rift, so G2 should work fine via Revive. I’ll be doing the same with all my old Rift games once my G2 arrives so I hope they do!
Most Quest games are also in the Rift section of the store, which can be played with Revive (a few exceptions exists). That’s of course, when the games are not directly in Steam too.
Hey I didn’t realise Until You Fall was now on Quest!
(also on Rift of course, but not cross buy unfortunately)
Quest has quest link which is a cable you can get that lets you play PC vr games as if you were using a rift S or what not.
