They changed the way they display cross buy. Previously in ‘supported platforms’ it would list both Quest and Rift and that’s how you’d tell, now they don’t do that which is what I was going off. :P

It releases on Oct 28th, and apart from a 90 second trailer we don’t know ANYTHING about it. There are no previews, interviews, gameplay videos, nothing at all.
They did include it in the Ubisoft Forward thing, so I wouldn’t say it was being sent out to die, but it wasn’t a super informative trailer I’ll grant.

I told my wife I’d buy her a Q2 and she was amenable to that…game hater normally…but I had her play beat saber and pistol whip on Q1 and she is on a diet now and is willing to try this for possible weight loss help.
This was the only way for me to get a new Q2 with our budget…but, she has no clue when it comes out and probably forgot all about it so I can get this and compare it to my Q1 for a week or so and then if It’s worth it, I can sell my Q1 and tell her the new one was delayed!
I think it’ll be better than Q1 by being sharper, clearer, and smoother (looking forward to trying Sairento again), and some existing games will be patched to look nicer too, but maybe not as comfortable without the Elite strap (the combo is still cheaper than Q1).
I think it will be much better whenever they patch the higher refresh rate in, assuming it is not ready for launch.

First impression: nice screen, strap is definitively unconvincing.
edit: oh yeah I forgot. I had an issue on the initial setup: the mobile app didn’t want to pair the headset. Strangely, the app didn’t have Quest 2 to select it, even after updating the app on Play Store. If that happens to you, a hint: clear data/cache from the app, login with your account, and try again. In that case, Quest 2 appeared in available headsets to pair and worked perfectly from there.

Congrats on the new toys!
I’ll be very curious to hear how the Quest 2 compares in visuals and responsiveness to the Rift S, when connected to the PC, and any other PC quirks.
I have the Reverb G2 on order, but the Quest 2 is my “upgrade backup” should the Reverb G2 prove problematic technically. Curious how it works in comparison to the Rift S, and whether the visuals are significantly improved.
(Not that I’m expecting the G2 to have issues, but the first version had its share of problems.)
What titles do you have in mind? Alyx, Squadrons, 8k porn…?
I still have to buy Squadrons. It seemed to need a few patches. I guess I will go on with the games I have pending on the Viveprt: LA noire Case files, Vertigo Remastered, and others.
In fact the other day I remembered I owned Pavlov… yeah I had forgotten. I have to start to play it lol.
