No, usually guardian is super solid for me. Check you don’t have windows/mirrors that can interfere with the tracking.
Then again, you can disable Guardian if you are sitting. You need to have the Quest 2 in dev mode, though.

Hmm, okay - My big TV screen is more or less in front of me, so that could be the issue?? I’ll see if it helps with that turned off. And of course I do have windows in my living room, but at the time I get to use the headset, its mostly dark outside. How about bright light? Is it really that sensitive?
And thanks - its good to know its most likely a me-problem. Then it should be solvable :-)

Make sure you have the lights on in your room. It doesn’t work in a dark room. I have this issue in the evenings if I play through sunset without noticing it’s getting dark, the tracking will get worse and worse.
It doesn’t work very well in direct sunlight either. And sharp shadows screw up the space detection algorithm.
I imagine a tv could confuse it, as in, the changing picture may fool the tracking.
It needs light to see, the tracking will start failing when the sun goes out and my room gets dark. On the other hand the sun itself also may confuse it, as it’s a bright IR spot, like the controllers.
I have an infrared flood lamp in my family room to combat this issue. Nice to be able to play in the dark when the rest of the family is asleep!
Looks like the Case/Elite Strap/Battery combo has changed to ‘not currently available’ on Amazon, and there is now no ship date on my order! :(

I often turn off guardian when I’m playing a seated game. The annoying part is that turning off guardian also turns off the headset-double-tap to enable pass through feature.
I haven’t seen this trailer before, I think they only had shown a small teaser
Although many Go games were ported to the Quest and/or PC, there are a few that couldn’t get into the Quest store that are now inaccessible on the Quest 2. That’s really too bad. I’m not sure what advantage this gives Oculus, other than avoiding some QA.
I heard some people were looking forward to this, a VR Battle Royale releasing in less than a day.
On Steam,
and cross-buy on Oculus store
Aargh. I keep getting emails from the distributor of the G2 in the UK. Every time I get my hopes up, and then they always open with:
I got my elite strap. It’s clearly more comfy. And it fits so well design and color wise… it makes me think this was going to be the real strap, it was all designed a single headset, and in the months previous to the release they decided to split the headset in two and put the cheaper cloth strap.
I still have to think how to strap my battery, cheapo style. I guess I will need longer velcro straps.

Over on the OculusQuest subreddit at least a dozen people have posted pics of their broken elite head straps. The breaks are occurring along the sides, and it seems to be affecting both the regular elite, and the battery pack. Be careful with those things.
I have seen it. I’m slightly worried, we will see. Thanks god Amazon has good return policies.

Oculus Link
Increased encode resolution which improves visual quality while running Link.
Oculus Rift S
We resolved an issue in Oculus Dash where pinned windows would show graphic distortion across the entire pane and not be visible to the user.
Also, the debug tool has a new setting:

I see lots of games and utilities can be bought on both Steam and the ingame store, and in the Rift store that opens whenever I open SteamVR. I assume the best version will always be the PC version, i.e. the steam version?
What confuses me is something like Virtual Desktop has two different version? For playing wireless, I assume thats the one I want?
Again, I am sorry for all these questions, but I find some of the stuff you can do to be…difficult to understand. For instance, if I open steamVR, and accidentially exits it again, since some games I have no idea how to exit, how do get into SteamVR again, without reebooting the glasses?
Also, if I do use Virtual Desktop and Sidequest, is it easy to break stuff?
Oh, I tried Skyrim, with normal movement…woah…thats really something I have to get used to. I assume one does get used to it over time, but the movement is really something.
I did complete Immortal Vader, which was one of the greatest gaming experiences I’ve had in years - so good!
There’s a “Start SteamVR” option in the View menu of Steam, though usually if you’ve previously started it there’s a little box with options already open at the bottom of your Steam window, even if SteamVR itself closes.

Sure - I can start SteamVR easily enough, but nothing happens in the Oculus - when I do it the first time, it asks if it should enable the connection. The second time, nothing, unless I restart the glasses. I’m probably missing something obvious somewhere.
You had a Quest right?
There are three stores.
One, native Quest store.
Two, Oculus pc store.
Three, Steam pc store.
What to choose? Well, pc is going to have better graphics, but it will need the pc to work, instead of being always with you in the headset. It will need the cable, or use VD (and not all games are compatible). So there are tradeoffs.
You want the Quest version of VD, to be able to stream wirelessly from PC to Quest.
I had the headset for near a year and the SteamVR UI and conventions still confuse me. You can quit games by using the left menu button open the steamvr menu, and exit the app from there.
If you just load another game it should trigger it in the headset.
