You guys, Supernatural is AMAZING. I have NEVER looked forward to working out until this. I know some folks balk at the monthly/yearly fee, but with all their licensed music and new workouts every day, so far we’re finding it worth it. My wife, who’s big into working out, also loves it, and now we both use it each day. I can’t gush about it enough.

I’m bummed that it’s not available for REAL headsets, just the standalone blurry toy. :)

Really? I know VRCAS reviewed it, and didn’t find enough to differentate it from things like Beat Saber and Thrill of the Figth to justify the price - but awesome to hear you enjoy it. I was thinking about getting it as well!

Says the man who hasn’t used a Reverb G2. :)
Kidding. I’m just jealous. I opted for the Reverb G2 because it’s better than the Oculus for hardcore flight sim stuff. But I’m sorely tempted to get the Oculus too, for what it does.
@Editer is just jealous that the Quest 2 looks as good as it does for half the price of a G2. ;)
Well if you only try a level or two you’ll be like, “this is a beat saber knockoff”, but Supernatural gets you moving in ways BS doesn’t. It makes you move your entire body, and encourages large strikes with your whole arm and shoulder rather than precise movements with your wrists. Beat Saber doesn’t really give you a workout at all, from what I’ve seen, but Supernatural definitely does.
Supernatural sounds and looks great, although the subscription pricing gives me pause. But to be fair it’s not accurate to say that BS doesn’t give you a workout. The thing is, advanced Expert+ players are all about wrist movements, whereas I swing my arms and shoulders in the same way the guy was doing for Supernatural in that video. This is probably why I am no good at Expert or Expert+ :) But I don’t care because I enjoy the energetic aspect of the game. Quite a few tracks have obstacles you need to duck under, as in… squat to the ground, hold, slice blocks, then jump up again etc. Some tracks do this to you several times in a row and it’s pretty exhausting after a while. I can’t actually play the game for more than about 20-30 minutes because my face gets so hot it fogs up the lenses!
I was going to try The Thrill of the Fight, but the warning about the minimum space requirements has me wondering if my space is large enough - I don’t fancy punching the bookshelf! (the other three directions have low obstacles, but if I get turned around and punch the bookshelf - which seems likely in a boxing game - I may cry!).
I tried playing Cosmodread and I can confirm that it is utterly terrifying. It’s the most visceral representation of the “scary spaceship with unspeakable horrors wandering around” nightmare that’s haunted me since I was a kid, and I just can’t bring myself to open doors with alien noises behind them! The vibe reminds me of a classic Space 1999 episode called Dragon’s Domain, with an alien creature behind a door complete with tentacles, terrifying howling sound effects, and… ARGH! I can’t even think about it. I admit I’m a big sook when it comes to that stuff.
I’m sure I’ll try it again eventually. ;)

Lol. You have to play on the higher difficulty levels. I have to stand on a towel when I play Beat Saber. After 20 minutes, I’m dripping sweat.
Well they have a lot of licensed music and add new workouts every day so it makes sense, it’s a service not a one-and-done game.
Well sure, but what I’m saying is according to sources I’ve read and seen, Supernatual gives you a better overall workout.
Supernatural isn’t available in the UK, sadly. I guess song-licensing?
Yeah must be. Hopefully they’ll be able to expand there.
Personally, I try to move my arm and not my wrist in Beat Saber, precisely because of that, to make it a bit more of a workout. I care less for the scores.
Man To The Top is on sale, but it looks like it would totally twinge my fear of heights so I likely won’t get it. I might console myself by getting In Death: Unchained instead.

I got TTT on itch a couple of years ago. It’s kind of like The Climb, but all flinging all the time. You race as fast as you can, flinging yourself around the levels with your arms.
Kinda sounds terrifying.
Also I was told VR Hair was a thing but dang.
You’re lucky you kept the glasses on at least! I played 3-4 hours of Beat Saber & Thrill of the Fight a few days in a row last week and was a sweating mess of matted hair & fogged glasses that had become trapped inside the Vive.
Also: WOW my arms hurt so badly I couldn’t exercise for a few days afterwards. Perhaps playing until I couldn’t lift them right before getting the 2nd dose of COVID vaccine was unwise in retrospect 🙄

Yeah this is why I got prescription lenses. The glasses are just getting too annoying during Supernatural and Thrill of the Fight.
I hear others have had this problem in the past!

I get VR face quite a bit, a red ring around my eyes as though I’ve been wearing a dive mask.
