I am a good vision test case. I’m short sighted, and uncorrected vision means I can read my phone / a book at a comfortable distance, but anything beyond that gets increasingly blurred. I can just about read text on this monitor if I squint. So I have computer glasses, which gives me sharp vision from about 2 to 8 feet away (with the sweet spot about 3-5 feet away). I can see well enough in them that sometimes I’ll drive the car, realise I can’t quite read that roadsign, and realise I’m wearing the wrong glasses.
I also have my “normal” distance glasses, which are blurry as heck up to 6-7 feet away, then sharp to the horizon (I used to be able to read my phone with a similar prescription, how my eyesight has deteriorated in the last 5 years!).
With VR, it’s crystal clear all round with my computer glasses (so within the 2-8 ft range). With my distance glasses it’s reasonable, but not pin sharp. Without glasses there’s a sweet spot if I angle my head just so where I can read text, otherwise it’s soft blurred. Naturally my computer glasses are the largest pair of glasses I have! But they still fit the Quest 2, although I have to take the headset off in a specific way to stop them from being pulled off my face.
I will also be getting some prescription lens inserts soon (I’m using my computer glasses prescription, as you can imagine). Glasses are usable, but they are a bit awkward, and fog up easily when it gets warm.
