Someone had an interesting point about the earlier part of the episode where Rick was showing Carl how to set a snare and how to funnel your prey into it. It was an allegory of Terminus; set the trap along a well traveled path, funnel your prey into the snare and viola, dinner.
Unless they change writers again, I don’t see how Terminus can be anything but a den of cannibals. If the point was to defend themselves, it seems silly to advertise your presence to everyone who has a radio or reads a sign along the rails. There is also the whole thing of herding the group instead of killing them, taking trophies from other prey, etc. Kind of disappointing, to be honest, but I suppose they need to follow the comics to a degree.

Ummmm…guys?[/QUOTE]
I should point out now that I had typed out a message, then my wife appeared at the top of the stairs with the “we’re having the baby two weeks early” shout. I added that part and hit submit after googling “water broke when to go to hospital” while she got dressed and we were off :). 5 hours later, she’s here and healthy!!
I figured that the rabbit-snare lesson was a Terminus analogy while I was watching the snare lesson. They were making such a point of it, the parallels with the Terminus signs was obvious.
Also obvious was the open cage full of butchered meat, as they went running along. It seems highly unlikely the meat is anything other than recent visitors to Terminus.
The coordination of the herding operation was a bit much, I agree. And the smart thing to do would have been to leave at least one person outside until they verified that Terminus was safe. This is true for either group, Rick’s or Glenn’s. At this point, the only realistic hope they have is that Carol and Tyreese bust them out. However, I fully expect it will be resolved next season unrealisitically.
Overall, I thought it was a weak finale, but the only genuinely awful bit was Rick’s ending line.
Congratulations! That’s awesome. Have you shown the season finale to the baby yet? Curious about her take. Was she bummed Judith wasn’t in the episode?
I found the season finale meh… I am curious why people think the Terminus is about cannibalism? Is there something about it in the graphic novels. If everybody is infected with the virus wouldn’t eating people risk triggering the virus to start?

I loved that message, “Walking Dead…ooo, baby is on the way!” without skipping (much of) a beat. Congrats!

I thought it was a fine Rick-defining episode, I’m just not sure I found it all that satisfying as a season ender. It seemed more like it should have been the penultimate episode. Rick is back full tilt at do not mess with my people because there will be hell to pay mode. I get his final line - he’s taking on the leadership role again, giving hope and willing to do whatever it takes. Hey, when the writers ultimately are on your side, you can show a little bravado in a dark place.
As to Cannibalism: I haven’t read beyond the fall of the Prison, so I do not know what the comic says (I’m not that impressed with the writing, pacing, or art of the comic, to be truthful). However, the vague vibe I got was cannibalism - though the stripped skeletons they briefly flashed as our heroes ran by might well be a confirmation. But other than that, my guess was that the whole place is rotten to the core, rather than just the Governor leading the gullible astray, such as at Woodbury. But it was just a general feeling I had.
Serious spoilers:
seriously
There is no Terminus in the comics, but there is a group of cannibals, and certain lines (including Rick’s closer) were taking straight from that segment of the story
One other reason to think cannibals is that these kinds of stories always have cannibals in there at some point. So here you have this place called Terminus, not exactly a name hinting at a rebirth so much as an ending. And they are welcoming everyone to join them. This implies they don’t fear the Governors/Merles/Claimers of this world. It implies they have the food to feed everyone that shows up. We already know from watching the previous seasons on this show that’s not possible, none of it. There’s no way they could be safe from all the armed crazies out there and have enough food to feed everyone…unless they were even more dangerous than the craziest crazies and they didn’t intend to feed anyone but themselves. That equals cannibals, it wouldn’t just be another Woodbury.
I think it’s possible their MO is to give newbies a choice, partake of the meat and be one of them or don’t and be the meat. Rick and the rest may be forced to choose one of their own to sacrifice in order to live. Maybe during this process Carol and Tyreese show up, so Rick and Co don’t have to eat anyone.

I wonder if Glenn’s group ate their Welcome Plate.
I HATE that we still have no resolution on Beth.

Musically passed, no doubt.

If Eugene can find a penny and a piece of twine, he can make a battery. Then they can escape!
A Breaking Bad / Walking Dead crossover would have been great.
Rowe having a baby is way more interesting than anything that happened in the last episode of Walking Dead. Which is a pretty low bar to clear, so don’t get me wrong. Gratz, rowe33 on your rowe34!
By the way, I have a few suggestions for the last line of the episode.
“They’re going to feel pretty stupid when they find out.”
“Find out what?”
“That they’re screwing with the wrong people.”
There’s not much you can do salvage that bit of petulant wanna-be badassery, but I’d like to submit a few re-writes:
“That they’re tangling with the wrong hombres.”
“That they’re messing around with the wrong posse.”
“That they’re faffing about with some formidable blokes.”
“That one of us is Daryl.”

They missed a golden opportunity at making a ton of advertising money
“They’re going to feel pretty stupid when they find out”
“Find out what?”
“That in the 15 minutes it took them to herd us into this box car, they could have saved 15% on their car insurance”
It should have been:
“They’re going to feel pretty stupid when they find out.”
“Find out what?”
“That I left our best gear buried outside the fence. They only captured us and the sword and crossbow.”
“Find out what?”
“Carl ate the last Big Cat.”
